I think its the fact that its an all round capable car, tunable, looks good, planted drive, doesn't feel like your driving a tin can, and many other plus points as well.
Shame they got rid of the Blob/Hawkeye saloon, I'd have considered buying brand new. Not with the 3 door versions around now though, unfortunately.

The noise, the speed, the handling.
Most importantly though it just works all the time. Has never let me down in 3 years. Its so bloody reliable. Give it a damn good thrashing and it still works just aswell as the day I bought it.
Dont like the fuel consumption though. You do have to pay for a good time though dont you.

Probably why I leave most big heavy tuned STI's, massive turbos and FMIC, time the revs hit 4,000-4,500 I'm 50 yards away.
I have noticed cars that don't give up do seem to get a few yards back once I hit 3rd.
I have to do all the damage up to 50mph, bit like Paul Sykes should have done when he fought John L Gardner, figuratively speaking.
Until an STI keeps up with me I'll love the ol' WRX for punching above its weight.

Comming off the throttle and rolling up to a junction or traffic lights, that burble and and pop is the best sound, and it always turns heads :-d

I shout 'subaru' randomly when one drives past, think its starting to wind my Mrs up. There was an RB5 that drove past my house once or twice a week, had to mute the TV to listen properly
I also like the whole subaru community thing, like waving at total strangers as you drive past in the opposite direction.

Fat chance of finding one sonny... I've never seen one more than a day old.

P.S. I like the way it destroys diesels, in a fog of partially burnt fuel
Revenge is mine !

the looks on drivers of audi S3's and honda s2000 faces as they get totally 'owned' by a stock looking ten year old scoob
on private roads of course
