Just about 2 stone since the start of the year.

Do i watch what i eat? = nope, diets are ****, they make you miserable.

What i did? changed jobs to one that works my belly into an exercise frenzy.

For example, i was cold this morning, started work and within 15 mins i had to switch the fan on as i had a moist body

That is all i did, i eat a poached egg and bacon toastie pretty much every morning in the work canteen, maybe once per month i go for the full on breakfast jobbie

Today i was a little extra peckish so i had 1 poached egg, two toast, slice of bacon, and then i put a hash brown inside of it

I suppose if i did some gay diet stuff at the same time i would have lost more, but thats the point? it will make me miserable, where as i am going to be doing the main exercise pretty much every single day for the long and distant foreseeable future.

The weight loss has slowed a little (in fact i put a bit back on in the easter holiday) but i dont care as i have been tanked up on beer all easter

I expect it to start dropping off again once my new MTB turns up.

edit.
Do i feel any better for it? = actually no, i dont feel any different at all apart from my clothes will need changed soon, it pisses me off when my jeans fall down

I lost 8 stone around 10 years ago (and kept it off thankfully!) - did it by cutting out booze and caffine, smaller portion size and swam every day. Avoiding fast food and ate more salad/veg. Still had treats/etc, but in moderation.

I found that being less drastic with the diet meant that it was a general lifestyle change which meant I didn't risk putting the weight back on.

Exercise is the key thing.

This has been a good thread thanks for all the info. I am going to use my fitness pal app on the iphone to calorie count and also try and get back out on the mountain bike and see what happens.

Good luck to everybody else.

I started weightwatchers 9 weeks ago and have lost nearly a stone by actually realising the volume of what I was eating and now eating the right amount. Add to that starting to exercise and its fallen off. I joined WW as I need the structure of it to motivate me

The first time I went to the gym after starting Atkins I nearly passed out, but coincidentally I came down with a bad cold (man-flu) a few hours later. I found that I had plenty of energy for long walks, leisurely cycles and everyday life, but marathon running would be a no-no. From starting at 21st to levelling off at 15.5st I only went to the gym once, then cancelled my membership (another plu$), preferring to rely on (fr££) walks and cycles for exercise. I've relaxed over the last few years since my big weight loss, and although I maintained 15.5st (±0.5st) for a good 2-3 years, the lure of carbs has seen me drift back up to about 17st recently. I'm on holiday for 2 weeks now, but on return I shall get back into it and regain control. My body obviously wants to be that big, so it will always be a struggle for the rest of my life
