You got a new engine last year? Ouch! I bet extended Subaru warranty didn't cover it. Was it still under the original factory warranty. And what happened to your first engine??

My rev limiter kicks in at 7400 in my WRX and I always take it to about 7300 when racing and with the WRX long ratios I'm moving pretty fast when I have to finally change and watch the revs and boost drop

Seems alot of people are fairly conservative with how high they rev, which is probably a good thing

Mine goes all the way to 8250 (I think)

Out of interest, how much higher would I be able to go if the limiter wasn't there ? Staying reasonably safe obfcourse ?

Dont worry, you still take a standard sti from the lights no problem

8000rpm, the limiter is there to stop problems and its only raised just to help big power cars gain a little extra. Pushing past raised limits will only end in tears!
