To be honest there is a fair bit of that with WRX and Sport owners as well. Ive been on the receiving end of a few rude comments where WRX owners have felt the need to big themselves up by putting those with sports down.

gearing in wrx is better suited to road sprint,it is sti arrogance mate as said above wrx is looked upon as "the peasents model and sti will nail it" 225 and 265bhp aint gonna make that much difference on the road to brag about.

so if you raced a wrx against a sti classic and evo 6 i take it the wrx will win.
i have a std sti and my mates evo are on par and wrx are no where to be seen.

As Maydew says not much in them. Again i have owned both i loved the 5 speed box but they break with abuse. Whereas the sti 6 speed is strong as you like but i found myself constantly on the gears compared with the 5 speed wrx

I wouldn't waste 9k on a wrx with a 58 year old bloke who will have never polished it and probably didn't even no where to check the oil. Id rather spend 9k on a sti blob with more miles on. In fact you can get one for 7.5k with 30000 miles, point proven ta ta champ

Well it has to be a classic as no one in their right mind would replace a 6 speed with a 5 speed and if he has gone for a straight cut box for strength then it will still be too long, hence the likes of the classic STI type R and RA have close ratio boxes with a top end of 155mph compared to a UK classic with 167mph top end (to the red line), and I can tell you that makes a hell of a difference.

I agree about the gearing there fella.....Two friends have classics running circa of 400bhp and both do a lot of trackdays. One uses 6 speed the other PPG with UK gearing....IMO and the guy who runs the 6speed box, admit the UK gearing is better suited for track.
