Thats a good idea from Nutzz.

Repair the alarm fobs, but a PIN re change won't do much, as the stolen fob won't work anyway, so they couldn't change the PIN.

To disconnect the mech locks, it'll be a small rod that links the back of the door lock, to the motor.

Just wondering how hard is it to change the locks, will it needs to be re-programmed by subaru? or it will work straightaway after pairing it to my current system. if I able to source a set 2nd hand....

if the lock comes with the keys, i dont see why it needs to be re-programmed by subaru?.. but I do think the new fob would needs to be programmed to work with your current security system. isnt that something would be done yourself? based on the instruction Tomwrx posted earlier??

I might be wrong..!!..

early Impreza's are OK!.... But 96 on Impreza's have a Chip in the black plastic part of the KEY!

This is coded into the the car's Main ECU!.. meaning if u have a New Lock, it aint going to work unless you swap the chip from the old key.
