"Back to the future," in a JDM STI Ver-9 Widetrack

Will ask tuner this question. Though the ECU has to still think that the ABS is working as it takes a feed from it to allow DCCD-Auto to work. DCCD-Auto is the only setting in Ver9/10 Sti's that allows Diff to not bind while doing slow manoeuvres or reversing. I assume in earlier versions of DCCD without Auto DCCD that it would release diff either at certain tight steering angles or slow speeds so that diff does not bind?

JDM hatches are quite difficult to find in the UK, unless you were to import one yourself. Although I have seen 2 Type 20's for sale and this:

Removing the hardware is actually not too bad a job. I've done one and could do a tidier job now that I have seen it done the first time. I'm tempted to redo mine re-routing the copper lines a bit more neatly; I've seen it done with all braided hose too which is an option but probably introduces a bit too much flex for an heavily abused track-day car

Though I am wondering whether it matters then, when transporting fuel in jerry cans in the boot or if e.g a swirl pot setup is added in boot later?

We can discuss it at Uxbridge and I have nearly 8-weeks of leave due in the summer so it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours. I'm toying with making some improvements to mine at the same time so we could get both done together.

Forgot to share these outstanding results from my car on std VF36 with supporting mods to get 365bhp, probably the highest figure I have seen on a Vf36 without methanol. Funny how times change....several years back I was trying to chase those last few bhp figures to try and get my Spec C or this to approx 340bhp and constantly posting every incremental result. Now I just causally popped down to Surrey Rolling Road where Charlie & Duncan "Race Dynamix" were at work just to get a car health check and power run and it effortlessly made this on its first run!
Ironically this may be one of the last few posts in this mammoth 56,000 view / 570 post thread named "Back to the Future"..........the film which also ironically was celebrating its 30th year Anniversary only a few days ago.........Maybe Marty McFly, this thread & myself are getting too old for another part...................

This car is now up for sale.
Price is dependant upon how many aftermarket bits the buyer wants to retain. (Brakes are already sold and being swopped back to Brembos).
Anyone interested msg me here, or facebook or email:
ricky@hindeshotel.com
Proper advert will be done next week.

can't see the for sale thread yet, not having second thoughts are you.
I am only here looking for a bargain due to how good the car is now and I know how much money you have ploughed into it.
So hurry up as i have cash waiting

And so the final chapter in the three part, Subaru trilogy comes to an end. 8 fun filled years of learning, meeting new people, new experiences, blowing lots of hours and wonga without a thought, getting older, sometimes going round in circles, sometimes cross threading- ok a lot of cross threading but most of all making new friends...............thank you MSOC
