Greersport Racing have had the GTX Evo turbo's for a while, and they make excellent figures.

 

Going on for £1K list inc. VAT for Zircotec to get all the pipework (uppipe, downpipe, headers, turbo) done in a bright colour (blue of course!).

As far as I know this is the first GTX 3582R on a UK scooby.

 

I think there pricing is OTT, IMO. Are you coating your fmic pipes in gold. How is david mounting the turbo.

Im not touching the intercooler pipes - other than I might get some of their ceramic blanket stuff.

Turbo has to be rotated.

 

Have you rotated the inlet manifold, it is really worth doing.

 

No - and no plans to at present. Last time I looked at that, it involved loosing my air conditioning and fitting some customised radiator, so I was not keen.

What do you feel that the benefit is? Im surprised if it makes much of a difference to airflow.

 

This is my setup, and it does make a big difference.

 

What fuel pump are you going for, i went with one of these.

Its a GSR Anti-Surge 10 Bar Bosch fuel pump.

 

470bhp @ 1.6 bar? That's very good going from a GT30 Hybrid.

For reference my Billet 35R made 450 @1.6bar but that was its first pull so I'm not sure if there was much timing in that.

Either way that's an excellent figure and bodes well for more boost and funky fuel later on.

Do you have any graphs as it would be interesting to see where its spooling in comparission.

 

In what way does reverse manifold make a big difference? Am I correct in that you loose the aircon?

I would be more concerned that you appear to still have a MAF fitted and the restrictions that entails before I looked at things like that!

I have a Walbro set to above normal pressure, and am currently using 840cc injectors. If i hit limits on that (quite likely) then I will look at the options.

 

There are a lot of tuners that rip out Walbro pumps, especially with big horse power. I tested the GSR pump @ knockhill with less than half a tank, it was great.

According to Andy F it does make a difference reversing the manifold.

What sort of a difference does it make? I mean, i'm not having any difficulty flowing 450hp on a medium turbo without reversing it, and I doubt im going to have problems hitting ~ 600 on a larger one.

All I can see it that is straightens out the airflow path, which seems to me like a marginal difference at best for quite a lot of effort?

I have 4 x AP Racing so no, and twin plate racing clutch.

Of the engine bay you mean? Sure - when I get the car back! Its at API for a few weeks while i'm in Spain...

If you mean of the P1, it looks much like any other P1 except with 18" gold rims and AP racing 6 pots, and a large tailpipe.

 

At approx what rpm will full boost come in?

 

How long is a piece of string?

That depends on many things, such as using what fuel, engine size, the mapping, the housing AR ratio, headers, cams, heat containment, etc. not something that can realistically be predicted until its been tested on a similar setup.

If you want me to to take a total guess, maybe 4,000+ RPM for the 2 bar I will be running.

 

Having done the rotated inlet conversion I can say that although it does bring gains it's not worth the effort for the gains made.

If you're running an engine with a few mods then it's not worth doing. It doesn't net you any more power the only thing it does do is make it spool slightly quicker and by slightly i mean very slightly. When you're wanting to get every last gain then go for it but be warned if you do it you probably wont notice any difference and be a little dissapointed that you've spent all that time and effort doing the conversion.

It does however look cool

As spool-up speed increase is presumably mostly from decreasing the pipe length, and as air pressure waves move at ~ 330 M/Sec yes I would say that must be a very small increase.

Anyway, I value my aircon more than looking cool...
