Having owned a couple of twin scroll cars, 3 easy ways of telling

1. if those are the original alloys then the chance is its a GL with the drivers pack and has the A-DCCD fitted (little dial and switch saying manual by the handbrake and on the dash) prior to this dccd cars didnt have abs.
2. It doesnt have the "burble".
It would appear to be a twin scroll model otherwise someone has gone to alot of effort to convert the car from a bug (single scroll) to a blob (twin scroll), or if you can see it, should say vf37 (twin scroll) on the turbo and not vf30 (single scroll).
3. check your vin plate, if this matches up then its an MY03 twin scroll car (under transmission)
JDM Impreza WRX STi MY03 TY856WB3AA (none dccd) or TY856WB3KA (DCCD) note the WB then 3 for the MY03 car

Wasn't the first twin scroll car a Blob Spec C of the same age and the normal JDM STi at the time was just single scroll?

Not that I am defying the all knowing god of Spec C's that is TonyBurns

I can't make out what it says on the turbo but the vin plate matches the number above and it has the dccd button by the handbrake, so it must be a twin scroll! Cheers Tony top man lol

All the blob JDM's were twin scroll, some very minor engine differences between the standard JDM and Spec C, geometry setup and turbochargers (vf36 rollerbearing for the Spec C and vf37 for the standard STI).
The MY05 had just the turbocharger difference engine wise, but much closer to the Spec C otherwise

If it does have a vf37 turbo; which it most probably does, what sort of power am I likely to reach from it before it needs changing?

Rather than deal in maybes and a thread two pages long why not determine accurately what your car is by :
1) VIN plate info.
2) Put car on a ramp and ID headers/uppipe.
3) Remove heat shield and ID turbo.

If you were local to here it is only half an hours work to do all three.

Nice car Mate, just get rid of that hanging rear fog lamp and wire it into your offside reversing light with a red led bulb, thats what I did to my jdm,
