Actually I did it. As the proud artist, the formal statement on my insight to my works is as follows:
"Christmas is often considered to be a tacky time of year with gordish tasteless decorations, so I used this inspiration to convey the same vision, but applied with a Subaru theme".
If anyone wants to submit their own new festive logo, the offer still stands. Nay-sayers take note; I've laid down the gauntlet, so if you think you can do better stand up to the challange and come up with your own.

You can't moan if you did squat, criticise other's (qualifying) submissions or just dredged up a picture that clearly won't work.

Mandatory Requirement it must be 327x100pixels in size. Any other size cannot be used as it will cause the forum to self implode*

*not really, but it'll screws things up and makes a simple job alot harder

Surely this would be a perfect time to make a banner incorporating a scooby sticking out of a nice snowy iced over lake

I have to say the current banner is a bit average.

...and why is it showing a Hatch...possibly the wurst Impreza ever...

...and the snowman is wearing the colours of the Swedish national football team (that's ok if it's the womens team just let's have some photos?)

I have to say, Lee's attempt is much better than the current 'snowy' logo.

For a site that makes money, that's pretty poor show.

Is it an Christmas logo or a 'festive' logo?

Wouldn't want to offend any minorities?

I'd like to know why a Subaru site has a picture of a rebadged Rover 25 on it?

It's not mine, sorry to say. I am no way that techy
It's the work of corradoboy and WWSD.
ALi, I don't think Christmas is tacky. I love it.
errrr, no offence but yours isn't as good as their work, sorry

Yep, that's my main complaint too. Can we not use the iconic Inpreza rather than the bland excuse for a Euro box in the graphic

I am no good at things like this, art or grphics. As i said above, you need think of the image you are presenting. And imho, the forum would look better with out your 'visual' contribution. Again, sorry.

Thats the problem ALi. It looks tacky and 'simple'.

How come we can have HUGE pics in our posts, but can only just manage to squeeze a tiny corner for our christmas 'banner' (postage stamp)?
I think the simpler and more concise the better. Much like the one that is beening suggested above. And surely, it wouldn't take that much to enlarge it.

You can do it for the advertisers, why not for your members?

Nothing tacky about Christmas in itself. Its just the commercial profiteers making the most of the opportunity who do that.

I would like to nominate that for post of the year

Fairtrade coffee all over my iPad and iPhone :d

As my antique classic sits bubble wrapped in the garage to be fetched out at shows when all the rest have been blown up /crashed/rusted away that are on the roads today .

Newage hatches are the best

Scoobynet are looking modern with the Xmas decorations rather then in a museum

To repeat why: I, Lisa and Robb have said from the outset, their pics won't fit, as they aren't the correct size. Anyway why not try something new?

Seeing that I am a photoshop novice, that is really the best I can do; I don't really have the time to spend vast hours making a masterpiece or trying to get other's to work, But at least I'm showing what is possible.

Can we not use the iconic Impreza rather than the bland excuse for a Euro box in the graphic
This was supposed to be a user submitted competetion (link: https://www.scoobynet.com/non-scooby...ts-banner.html ). Nobody has put forward a pic of qualifying size. If someone wants a scabby old Impreza...go and make it. I quite like the Hatch; its tasteless, but not chavvy.

(btw, saw my old Impreza last week; Its going rusty around the rear arches. Well, I suppose after 13yrs its bound to happen )

Anyway don't like it? Make your own. It is supposed to be a competetion afterall.

That's partly the issue. If anyone has made a website, they will know its based around templates. Those templates have to be carefully made so everything fits properly regardless of monitor size, screen resolution or browser window size. Including the adverts and banners etc.

If you look at the blue section at the top of the screen (I've proposed to change this to white as it clashes) you will see its actually a slice image that is only 2 pixels wide repeated so it fills the width of the window: http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...coobynetbg.jpg

Swapping or changing this 2 pixel picture to anything wider than 2 pixels involves alot more work than just uploading a file to replace the orginal logo. And if its done wrong, it will **** up the way the page is displayed in certain browsers.

Er, isn't this site owned by a multi million pound company who owns a large number of forums? Can you not manage to re-size a graphic

The last owner managed ok
