Deal?

Someone turns up to actually look at the car, comes out for a run and then offers me some money that reflects the car and its condition.

That is not £5000 btw, for all you Scoobynetters that think that's what a WRX STi is worth!.. Worth more broken I think ??
Haha, I will repeat, I am in two minds whether to sell, let alone desperate... good luck with your search

Thanks Pete.

Haven't driven it for two weeks so it'll feel like a new car anyway

Well I think you need to do your homework Steve as you are not going to get it for £5000, already been offered £5500 and refused it.

Good luck with your search

its just a general statement based on the basic fact that most sellers don't take into consideration.

glwts btw

ps you did invite final offers, you cant invite offers without a reserve then publicly criticise the amount offered.

Some buyers offer offensively low offers too, I would accept the comment if I was taking the pi$$.

There is NO reserve, this is a classified sale (as is the ad on the auction site). The ad said or near offer.

The publication of the £5k offer was to do exactly what you alluded to in your first line, letting the market know what the buyers are wanting to pay.

If it is that low, firstly I am a surprised, and secondly I wont be selling

It is although fairly interesting that I have been offered £6k worth of car plus cash, sadly a car I don't want.
... Bugeye owners, don't give up yet!

I'd say it's worth 6K all day long! Hang in there mate as i've sold 4 for less than what they were worth and it's even more gutting.

As i told another guy the other day selling his RB5, sort out the little annoying bits and you'll get more interest I wouldn't buy a car that needed the exhaust etc welding for example. Not a dig just talking from a lot of experience. Things like this put me off so you'll be putting off potential buyers. Sad but true.

Alan,

Thanks for the comment.

I am wanting to make cash from the sale to buy a cheaper car, so spending money on it doesn't fit at the moment, and these are nice little jobs to do.
(I imagine most people would want a louder exhaust?)

To be brutally honest, I didn't need to mention the exhaust as it can only be heard up on ramps... but I wanted warts and all on here...

Well... lots of interest, lots of options.... but at this rate I am keeping it
Took it for a spin up the Northumberland Coast yesterday after the car has been garaged for two weeks and it reminded me why I love STI's... no compromises!

My faith in Scoobynetters is on a decline..

Once it was full of trustworthy upstanding citizens that cared about the other members and showed them some respect.
Over the last few months, I have bought a few items that went straight in the skip.
...and now...

Invested time, money and effort into making my car affordable on their terms... and I took them on their word...I should have known, no deposit was offered.

Didn't even bother to come and have a look....

So, fellow SNetters with a nice motor to sell... BEWARE... Some of our members cannot be trusted....
Take a large deposit, as they may take you for a ride, in both senses

Regards

I have arranged a deal with a Private Seller who had exactly the car I want.
He is a Scoob Enthusiast and owns a nice classic already...
He is obviously collecting them!

I will post details of the deal tomorrow....

Well done with the sale.

The cars were in completely different leagues and I was just testing your buyer.

That's 3 sti prodrives sold in one weekend!
3 different tacks as well, standard, tastefully modified and as new.

There's hope for all bugeye owners, whatever your car.

Well to box it off.

When my timewasters went and bought another car..... I contacted the seller of the car I was lined up to buy and he wanted the Impreza.

Win win, I got his Shogun and he got the Impreza for his wife, to sit next to the Terzo she already has!

£7k worth of Shogun ++++

Hope all the new Scoob owners enjoy their Bugs.

Sorry Danny it's sold. Swapped it for a 4x4.

It's probably best to make your low offers by PM to save any embarrasment.

Good luck with the search.
