I got three collies and an ML and it is a tight fit, the best car for carrying a dog in comfort is a good old Berlingo or Peugot Partner, plenty of room for them in there, my dogs have even got their own car now.

RandLover Discovery, brill for dogs if they can jump or you need a ramp (we used an extending one when we had the old GSD) we had a Jeep Cherokee with 3 dogs and that was fine too (Lab x GSD and a Collie x) but again high so ramps maybe needed.

2 gsds one fits reasonbly well in the back of the wagon the other one a smaller bitch sits on the back seat, edit one ends up on front seat and the other ends up with his front paws firmly on the rear seat his body stradled over the back seat and his rear legs still in the boot, im sure one day he will realise?

Default German Shepherd and jeep cherokee

I have a German Shepherd now, previously had a larger shepherd and a flat coat retriever at the same time.

I have had my 93 Jeep Cherokee linited 4 litre petrol for 10 years and had the tyre conversion to mount the spare on the outside of the tailgate giving lots more room inside for the dogs. The back seats were not folded down.

I have a custom made dog cage, there was room for the two dogs to lie down. The huge shepherd's ears touched the roof of the cage when she was sitting but it was not a problem. There is room enough on each side of the cage for water and bowls etc

I looked at many 4 x 4's before settling on the jeep as it had more room in the back than for example, a landrover discovery.

All my dogs have happily travelled many miles in the jeep and are always eager to jump in.

The jeep is VERY thirsty though, but i love it.

The dogs have a BMW 523 Touring as their wheels now, Picasso has gone to another home (thank god lol)
Roof height is not ideal, but fit for purpose, and more floor space.

i would imagine it depends on why you want them in a car ?
If you are the kind who hops them into the car and travel 20 miles to a field/beach etc then anything you dont care about

My ABD fits in the classic no problem, but i only put him in it for vet journeys/emergency etc,i walk the thing to the field 2 mile walks etc
