lets see your forester sti's
wtf how the hell can it be quicker when it WEIGHS some 200kilos more ?? more power? it's only 15bhp more than your classic, believe me it will feel slow compared to your classic lol
Sort of, I've driven a type R classic with 340/330, my current car is a blob STi with a mapped 330/330, which is similar weight to a forester ~ 1400-1450kilos, same 6speed same engine. The type R is alot quicker in all situations. Ok the forester will feel alot more refined than a classic as it is stiffer n better equipped, but if u want raw peformance a 300+ classic is pretty much unbeatable for the road. Anyway no harm in test driving one is there, go for it.
i know what u mean, what sort of power/torque would i need roughly from the fsti for it to feel as quick ish lol? although it might not feel as quick it probably would be as quick?maybe lol?

Couple more

Mines got BC Coilovers,Whiteline ARB and strut braces,EBC YellowStuff,Gooodridge Brake Hoses,Motul RBF 600 Brake Fluid,Mocom re-map(about 300/300),Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas,
It's plenty quick as it is for a family bus as the fella in an AMG Merc found out in Germany last year

i assumed that going from a 315/320 classic to a 330/330 fsti, that the forester would be as quick roughly, maybe a fraction slower, but i didnt think it would feel sluggish!wouldnt want it to be noticeably slower hence why i been looking at a litchfield supplied one.(330/330). would be nice to get an answer from someone who has been fortunate enough to compare.

It's simple physics mate, a car that weighs alot more than another with similar power is going to be significantly slower!
It's a late '06.I had an '05 Wrx that i changed it for.Totally night and day.
Never driven a classic so can't compare but they're not slow by any stretch of the imagination.
I've had mine upto 145mph(GPS not speedo) on the Autobahn and it was still climbing, had to slow down for slower traffic,so didn't get the chance to V max it.
I like it becuase it's a bit of a Q car, doesn't really attract the wrong type of attention, only from people who know what it is and it's very practical.

My pal had an sti saloon 2.0L re-mapped to 320/330. I have the forester STI 2.5L from Litchfield imports. His saloon was slightly quicker on acceleration, but he did have straight through exhaust and I have a sports cat and 70kg heavier.

really???? if u had a 350bhp forester,it would possibly have say 360-370lbft,surely it would eat the road quicker?
i know it is heavier but the extra power and torque should easily cover the weight gain, shouldnt it?
yea might be enough, depends on the car that's modded/mapped
