Ok.. lots of scope for people being late then

If you know you're going to be late (i.e. beyond about 10:40am at Maidwell), can you please ring me on 07977 573019 and I'll make sure I stay back so that everyone gets the drive notes. Otherwise you'll turn up and we'll all have gone, and you'll have to make your own way there (which would be a bit of a shame ).

I've printed off 25 copies of pace notes and colour maps with the route marked on them, so no excuses for getting lost!

Cheers
Richard

Lee, are you guys meeting at Mimms and then Toddy, or are you bypassing the Toddy meet?

Maps? That might be an idea. I know how to get to Hemel then Toddington, but after that I haven't got a clue!

we was gonna bypass it, as i dont think any evo's are going there (we are meeting newport pagnel (OPTIMAX), and Leicester services), but if people want to pull in, no problem, we can do that.

all part of the fun

Question

Looking at the maps, I think the easiest route to Maidwell will be up the M1, Tke the A14 at Junction 19 then take the A508 to Maidwell.

I know this is the long route but it totally avoids screwing around and getting seperated / lost in Northampton.

That's my 2p worth anyway

(And its so easy that I don't have to print out any maps!!)

Probably totally wrong but .... Can you actually get on to the A14 from J19 northbound, thought it was M6 only northbound. May have to go M6 J1 and then come back?

Not sure on this so suggest you check somehow.

It's been a while since I went through J19 northbound though (well 17 hours at least)

Looking at the road layout on AutoRoute, you can't go from M1 north to A14 east.

Cool

You are all totally right and I am a total muppet - you can't get onto the A14 at J19.

BUT you now have all looked at the map and worked out where you need to go!!

Off at J18 and cut up from there to the A14??? sound better?

Just gonna add my bit in, Northampton will be pretty dead at that time on a Sunday morning

I think that the easiest way is below:

17.5 4.2 M1 TODDINGTON SERVICE AREA

32.7 15.2 M1 NEWPORT PAGNELL SERVICE AREA

42.6 9.9 M1 Junction 15 (A508)
Leave Motorway (signposted Northampton East) and at roundabout take 3rd exit A508
44.7 2.1 A508 Queen Eleanor Interchange
Branch left and at roundabout take 2nd exit (signposted Town Centre) By London Road enter
46.4 1.7 A508 NORTHAMPTON
Follow signs Market Harborough A508 to leave by Kingsthorpe Road
49.5 3.1 A508 Junction for Boughton
At roundabout take 2nd exit
51.9 2.4 A508 Junction for Brixworth
At roundabout take 2nd exit
53.2 1.3 A508 Junction for Scaldwell
At roundabout take 2nd exit
55.3 2.1 A508 Lamport ("The Swan" public house)

57.1 1.8 A508 Maidwell ("Stag's Head" public house)

just watch out for the police revenue generators

Wink

Thanks Rich & Anna

If I'm organised, I could put the route onto the satnav system - thereby making sure that when I do get lost, I know which country I'm in
