it took about 2 hours to fit, a bit of work underneath is needed to gain clearence, and imo it looks nice as the engine bay is not half empty, it works well with the TD05 turbo too as mine is a my96 with the td05 and z4 ecu, unless your going for big power i think there pointless and all for looks, my tmic is good for 350/400bhp, why would i want a fmic when a tmic does the job................

and mine is a verison 2 WRX 1 of the last 1's

Having fitted both STi 8 top mount and then Hybrid GT front mount to the same car and having reported on here, several times, my experience I can tell you that at 320 bhp on a version 5 or 6 car you already need to do something because of high charge temperatures. I also sell charge temperature guages £80 each if you really want to know what is going on in terms of ACT.
An STi 8 TMIC will do the job for you but you need the STi 8 scoop and under tray for it to perform reasonably and if you apply additional power at a later stage you will have made a bad decision because at that point the benefits from the Hybrid front mount outweigh any possible benefit from the STi 8 even with scoop and under tray.
The kit referred to above is the Hybrid GT which I have been selling for months now for £270. I also have the Hybrid GT2, the only real difference being the end tanks on the core and these are £290. Again this has been the price for months. Overnight delivery is £12.50 UK mainland. Same delivery charge to Northern Ireland but it usually takes two days. Paypal to harveysmith1@btopenworld.com
These kits come complete with an additional silicon joiner for the BOV connection, material list and instructions and as many people on here will tell you, my aftersales service and technical backup is second to none. We also carry a full inventory of spares for all Hybrid intercoolers.
We can install here in Darlington £185, drive in - drive out. Typically it takes six hours and as we are doing this all the time we know how long it takes and you get a professional job.
If you are fitting this in a version 5/6 you need a flange adaptor which I can also provide which allows you to reuse your existing BOV which would normally have been mounted on the front of the TMIC on the ver 5/6. £26.50.
Payment today by 17:00 and you receive tomorrow.
Do some research on here or PM some of the people who have already bought intercoolers, some who have bought from elsewhere but had to come here for backup on installation.
The prices above are my prices, have been for months and I am not in a Dutch auction and I don't PM people with special deals just to get the sales.

Sorry to go off on a tangent but here a question for you guys in the knowledge.

I plan to go on track in my Impreza fairly soon. Its an S reg so i believe my98 turbo 2000. Its got a turbo back de-cat. Would there be any point in myself fitting the hybrid gt2 I have sitting in the garage?

Don't fall for sales pitches.

I run a TMIC on mine (340/340) and one of the most respected tuners around also uses the same on his (iirc 450bhp+) road car.

Not saying a FMIC is a bad move, but they aren't without their drawbacks.

Unnecessary at your level.

No need to get in another long winded debate (common subject here on SN).

Lol. You need to re-read the thread to see who the FMIC salesman is

I get asked for my opinion and I give it.

Some people have some serious hang ups.

Evidence of what exactly? My cars runs a STi8 TMIC and we stock Hybrid FMICs here, wouldn't be hard or expensive to fit one to my car if I felt it worthwhile. You don't need to monitor ACTs exclusivley or run a car on a dyno ill equipped to cool a TMIC in some "tests"

One of the most accomplished mappers around also uses a TMIC on a car with some 450/500.

The views of someone who fitted a FMIC (maybe down to reading some of the sales tosh often posted) and has gone back to a TMIC for the better.

To recommend that someone fit a FMIC on a V5 road car aiming for 320bhp, is ill advised IMHO.

Bob : Have you measured the ACTs on a version 5 or 6 car running around 320 bhp?
When you have the answer to that question you can give an intelligent recommendation as to what is required. Have your own opinions by all means but some of us have put a lot of effort to come up with fact and unlike you I fit front mounts on a regular basis and have also fitted a top mount to a particular vehicle, believing at the time it might be the answer which it clearly was not and the results were carefully documented and speak for themselves.

We are potentially getting into a circular argument here so I think it's time to close this thread - unless the OP has any objections? If you do, just pm me please.

Thanks
