as said on Qi the other night a mention of hitler and the **** party will end a thread, so if you buy a vw or one of there retrospective companys you are funding the german reich and hitler will raise from the dead in a darth vader suit and take over the universe.

Hitler "Look into my moustache and you will know it to be true"
Tony Blair "Bollocks, it is true. Come on then Darth, lets do this"
Based on a true story.

Maybe some of you guys that are on here should give me reasons to why you are still on the SN forum and yet you no longer own a Subaru??
What a roaster, T*t.

The RS4 is a totally different car than a scooby, like it or not it's also much better.
Scoobies are awesome, I had a STiPPP blobeye for a while and still miss it in some ways but my 2007 RS4 is so much better.
You guys who constantly bang on about beating everything on the road are very funny
For the OP perhaps you did keep up with the RS4 but if he was coming out of a layby you probably had a few mph on him already giving you an advantage. The smoke coming out his pipes did mean that he was accelerating but they smoke a bit anyway and he was probably just keeping in front of you
The Rs will hit 100 in 10.5s from standstill, what do you think your car does it in?
Most scoobies are modded to but I bet the Rs was standard.
My guess would be that the Rs will be about 2 - 3s faster to a ton than your car and that's quite a bit faster when you are talking about very fast cars.
Comments about being underpowered are typical, I seem to recall that scoobies suffer the same problem. I'd rather have a car that is fast on the road than one that does well on a set of rollers

Yip very funny.
All you've done is note the point that a RS4 estate is faster than most unmodified scoobies..........nice
By the way, just be clear, I think scoobie are great cars but making comments about them beating everything on the roads is just very chavish

scooby-tc: your right and it is a shame because they are incredible machines, given what they can be bought for. Not big on luxury but brilliant mechanicals and so easy to drive slow or quick
If you are moving to an Audi you won't be dissappointed and you'll enjoy the luxury and quality of build, they are not perfect of course, what model you after?

it's just a shame some people are more interested in image than actual driving, i couldn't give a flying **** what demographic is currently driving the car i own, i even drive my missus' old x5 and don't care if people think i'm a w4nker when i drive it (although i do use the indicators), my dad has an audi a4 conv, and my kid bruv a 225 TT, and they don't even style hair, hell, i even drive them too now and again, nice cars, superb build, but i prefer my raw edgy flimsy scoob.

well, i've gone from 9 years of Impreza ownership (UK, WRX, STI9) to the RS4 and currently loving it.
Its extremely solid on the road, was pretty quiet (until the Miltek went on ) and the pull from 1500 up to 8500 is similar to my mapped STI9 at around 4k on full boost, its just there, effortlessly and instantly in all gears, whenever you want it (assuming it hasnt drank itself dry, which it tries its best to do)
I've a Sprint blue one, and bought it in Sept from an Audi dealer and a similar spec is still going for at least £1500 more than I paid (I bartered a v good deal)
The cabins a nice play to be too - sports seat inflate around you and literally dont let you move if they are set tight enough.
All in all a great car, and a very different animal to the Impreza

Getting old? possibly but i would rather drive the family in luxury rather than a noisy tin box that i am afraid to park out of my sight
