According to many Audi Tuners, and owners who have dyno'd their cars, no B7's RS4's get get anywhere near the 414bhp Audi quote, an optimistic quote to compare with its direct competitors maybe, most results closer to 380 or 390bhp, in a car thats 1650-1700kg, mind you they are still rapid so well done.

I remember beating one (a few times on the day) at Santapod a few years back and I only had a 330bhp (dynod) Pulsar at the time. I know what I would rather be in though.

Personally, I prefer the older B5 Bi-Turbos which can be had for £13-15k these days, 380 stock but a proper 470 easily avaiable with some decent mapping with much higher boost and exhaust, far more if you add hybrid or turbos from RS6's. A better option if your into tuning. Or buy the best sleeper around, the same engined S4 B5 for £5-6K and add the KO4's.

Not really had many "moments" with other cars as it doesn't appear to attract much attention.
Great all round car though and the women love it
I am sure you could get someone to rag the **** out of it when your stood on the side of the road. I am willing if you have no volunteers.

Tuned car beats standard car SHOCKER !!!!!!!

Standard RS4 would waste your standard car though.

Plus, he's driving a well built £50k motor with a stonking V8 engine. Pull up anywhere in an RS4 and people think you have good taste, and you've made something of yourself.

You're driving a Japanese rise box. Pull up anywhere other than a School playground, and people just think you're a Chav, and that you've achieved 5 stars on your badge a McDonalds.

This result just goes to prove that Scoobs are the best and fastest cars on the planet!

Bet the guys whose M3s and RS4s scooby drivers 'beat' go home and cry, wondering where they went wrong in life, and perhaps even consider suicide!

Controversial, a bit Daily Mail but definitely fecking hilarious!

You got yout 370 out yet? Roads down here are still damp but no ice. Just had a cracking blast in mine on the way to (and back from) a surf.

Good taste, perhaps. As for 'Made something of yourself' - quite sad actually if somebody thinks that owning a fast/expensive car defines 'making it' in life...

(PS - I'm an RS4 fan BTW)

I meant that if you can A) Afford an RS4, or B) Be given one as a company car, you ain't working in Maccy Dee's.

It often means "muppet that's financed themselves up to the eyeballs on a car" but it's still funny.

I saw an E46 M3 cab yesterday - the guy pulled into a small car park, revved for no reason then skidded with music blaring. Surprise surprise he was a complete chav.

Seen similar in many "nice" cars - nice car does not always equal well off.

I also know a farmer that's utterly minted, has owned many Ferraris and Porkers and still prefers an STI for having fun in...

Stilover - just saw some APPALLING driving by someone in a 1 series. Very nearly caused a crash - so you are probably right.

How is it? What's the run in period?

There is a pothole on the road below us that would total a wheel/suspension if you hit it. About 1.5 foot wide and about 3 inches deep. It's pretty bad!

Run in is 1200miles at no more than 4000 revs.

***** to that. I'll do what I do with every new car. Recommended revs for the first 500 miles, then start flexing the engine throughout the rev range (but not red lining it) for the rest of the running in time. After that ..........

How I think your on a wrong Forum here.

You are more than welcome to comment, but how can you criticise Subaru's and their owners on a SUBARU forum ?

I didnt realise that the Clark family were chav's running a chavy business.

I'd take on the Audi anyday at a sprint, especially hillclimbs less weight

Done similar with my two new cars (a while ago). Both fine.

Should be a lot of fun once it's run in. Initial handling impressions? How is the stereo? Cracking system in the GT pack version.

I was a Subaru owner for 3 years. 2005 STI PPP.

This is "Other Marques", so everything is fair game to talk about. Post in Subaru General if you want your @rse kissed.

The Clark family? Can't comment on them being Chav's, but they do make nice shoes for School kids.

Not sure how many RS4 owners take their car Hill climing on a weekend

Yeah, sound system (Bose) is very good. Very loud. Needs to be, as tyre noise on some roads can be a tad on the loud side too.

Handling? Haven't really had a spirited drive in it yet. Bedding the brake pads in too. But so far it feels very good. Ride is firm, but not to harsh for me. Could see passengers not liking it though.

The noise from the V6 is nice though. Just starts to make a growl near the 4000 rev mark, just as I have to change up for now.

So far so good. Really please with my purchase. Can't wait to get on those Pennine roads.

UK300, no offence mate but its just a bit boring reading about somebody racing a porsche/bmw/audi etc. Firstly you never really know if the other person was racing. I have this all the time, some plonker in a rice rocket trying it on. What they don't realise is most of the time I won't race, especially when I have both small kids in the car.

On top of that even if you were faster, so what? Lots of people who buy cars don't buy them to try and be the fastest on the road. Its a decision based on speed, handling, comfort, toys and yes, image (by that I don't mean trying to be flash, quite the opposite, to be understated)
These people may also not want to spend their spare time decatting cars, or going to rolling roads to tweak their car.

Maybe that's why you got the reaction you did from Stilover?

This.

Since I've had my current car I've felt no need whatsoever to show any other driver who's best.
I no longer want to de-cat, re-map (just yet ) ***** wave on the roads - I just let every other ricer and boy-racer try to goad me into a race.
It's happened quite a few times lately but I just sit there and let them brag to their mates how they wasted a crap Germanic car, smug in the knowledge that there aren't many standard cars out there that can touch mine.

As stilover says, this is 'Other Marques', go to 'General' if you want a kiss from your brethren.

Dont bother about the speed limit brigade on here, makes me laugh the lot of them.

Me too - had a 2005 STI running just shy of 350, sold it last Oct and now drive an 07 RS4 saloon.

To about 60 ish there probably wasnt much between then, but RS4 feels like a rocket from that point, whereas the STI didnt.

Cabin much much nicer place to be and its far more of a discreet car without being lost completely in the traffic

What was meant to be a bit of a laugh has turned into the bun fight i wasnt expecting. Comments from the likes of stilover are uncalled for. I posted on this category for a reason (peoples different opinions), but abuse is not called for.

Thanks all to those that read and left constructive comments albeit maybe negative, but the truth is the truth and i take it onboard

As for the stilover guy..... Darlington is only an hour from me, so if you want to make it personal? Making out im a low life by commenting on me being a McD's worker and making out that my knowledge is minimal is pathetic. You may think it but keep it to yourself please

Im a 32 with two young kids, and I have a very well paid job that I enjoy plus a 2nd income through making stickers / graphics so my life is peachy, and I may go to McD's occasionaly as customer if im feeling lazy and my kids wish to have a Burger. As for the Clark situation, yes one of kids wears Clarks! enough said.

Anyway, I can't see stilover being particularly worried.....
