Well going out for a sneaky trip on Monday with Rothers & Mole , Forecast is spot on , still not sure how it's fishing , nobody has been out due to the strong winds recently , Rob was just saying that he has had 50 booking's cancelled since the beginning on December - Circa £20.000 !!


I think that he is not far away from saying to the lot of it & selling up & moving to Scotland let's just hope that the weather & the fishing improves & Rob get's in the booking that he has presently , otherwise i feel we may not have Dawnbreaker there to go out on in the future .

Of course i will report back good & bad on Monday evening , anyway a ****e day's fishing is better than a good day's work eh

on a positive, i fixed the boat cable this afternoon, so My Fair Lady is sea worthy again!!
just the trim pipes to be repaired monday....

I hope Rob doesn't bugger off..... coz after 6 months of joining his trips, I've actually taken a bit of a shine to him... Despite his bravado, he does actually care what his clients think and does try very hard for us every tirp...
plus i don't think we'll find another skipper that can give as well as take as much banter as he does!!!

Yeah me to buddy , as you know i talk to Rob nearly everyday now & recently he has been really down , Sure we both would if you thought you had 20k coming in & then it's not , just due to the weather , This trip on Monday was only planned if the Cod where back in !! It sounds doubtful that they are not , but hey if the weathers good what's the problem & of course it's another trip for the skipper .

All that said Rob still phones up & Say's the fishing may be **** & really it's not worth going after all the canceled bookings you would of thought that this would of been the last thing to ring me regarding , but i feel that's the real honesty of the guy , under the cocky , bravado , arrogant Rob there is a very caring skipper who wants the best for his anglers all the time , with that he gets my much respect & continued bookings

 

Well , myself , Rothers & The Mole & 3 other lads had a day out yesterday , after a call from Rob on Saturday & midday saying it was off Tiny , due to know fish / bites still & then another call @ 4pm to say it was back on again as they had found a few let's just say that my expectations were not to high ..

Anyway after breakfast we get on the boat for 7am & head out @ a steady 15 knots punching against the tide we eventually get to our chosen mark ( Same spot as Sundays !! ) On the North side of the wind farm .

Lines in the water & start to play the waiting game of course by now the banter is in full swing ...

Cries off laughter could be heard for miles as the old clichés came out yet again ...........................................

It's a great flood mark this , still no colour in the water , fishes really well on the ebb , & rother's made a new one up for him that it won't start fishing well until the 3rd wind turbine in the 7th row , 2nd on the left , opposite the 8th on the right stops turning .

Anyway you boy's know what it's like Yes you guessed it we finished top boat again with 5 cod to just 6llb & 5 weaselly whiting 2 of witch i caught , Rob got 4 of the cod & yet again enjoyed a lovely Chinese takeaway on our fooking bet money , another £40 in the pot !!

But the biggest cheer of the day was when Rob cracked off !! But yes of course we heard that he got £40 to buy more tackle !!

Still yet another fantastic day out , on the upside the sprat's are starting to thin out , there is a bit of colour in the water it's not as salty as it was !! & the bites were just a little bit more meaningful , roll on Sunday is all i can say

Well well well , yet another day's fishing lost to this poxy weather was hoping to get out with Mike on My fair lady today & Help him christen his own boat with a fish on board , but with heavy rain & gail force winds on the water is not the place to be


So we now have March to look forward to


Got the bug for this big time ( quick boy's one of you open up a tackle shop ) Have a few little trips planned in March

Sunday 14th , Will see myself , Rothers & The Mole heading down to Newhaven Marina aboard the Sea lepoard for a bit of off shore lure fishing for the big pollock , can't wait need more new gear as this fishing is completely different to bait fishing !!

A sneaky Tuesday midweek ( Tues 23rd ) trip will be back on board Dawnbreaker with Rob for a off shore wrecking trip again after the pollock , Cod & maybe a Bass if were lucky

Sat 27th - See the monthly trip on Dawnbreaker again

Called of today another good decision , wind NE 15 - 22 MPH against tide = Big swell

But ...

Now out tommorow

Happy day's , lots of sunshine forecast Wonder if there will be any fish

Woop Woop - Sunday 14th will see Rothers & i making a very early 4am start for the haul to Newhaven ( Nr Brighton ) to fish on Sea Leopard Fishing Boat Charter Brighton East Sussex. For a nice bit of off shore wreck fishing with lures , never tried this so really looking forward to it .

Will be fising 26 miles out over 5 different wrecks in over 200 foot of water !!

Local reports from the wrecks have been very good with lots of double figure , Pollock , Cod & a few Bass starting to show , will be back with a report of course

Well after a few baron trips out in the estuary , Myself , Rothers & Moley decided it was time for a change of tact , so i got in touch with a skipper out of Newhaven ( 20 mins ) From Brighton ..

It was going to be a very long day indeed as we had to be @ the boat by 7am , So the ESC HQ alarm was set for 3:15am & i was on the road @ 4am , firstly collecting Rothers & a little later Moley , so we headed for the South coast !!

We arrived in very good time & was @ the boat @ 6:15am , the cafe was open so we grabbed a sausage & bacon bap & a coffe latte just to set us up for the day , back to the van to get changed & collect all the gear & then head down to the boat ...

This was to be our ride today ( SEA LEAPORD ) Skipperd by John Goldsmith



Graham ( another angler who joined us ) Had the 1st fish @ 18.8llb , this certainly set the standard for the day !!



Then Rothers found a good un @ 14.4llb



Very closely followed by Moley with a fine specimen @ 14.8llb



Now i was under pressure as the other lads had caught & poor ole Tiny had nothing , you can imagine the banter !!! Woop woop until i latched onto this baby @ 16.7llb !!!

The boat finished with a total of 19 Pollock best Graham's @ 18.8llb the worst was about 8llb !! I finished with 5 in total , Rothers had 4 & Moley 3 .

Wreck fishing using Lures really is something else , non stop all day long , but what a day !! I'm deff going back for more , next trip Sat May 8th a birthday treat

What a day , im still buzzing

Oh & PS .. Just to finnaly put the little baby to bed regarding my little toy rod , it landed all my fish with ease 12-20llb class is the way to go You lot keep fishing with your broom handles
