Well you would say that wouldn't you but Steve Sutcliffe is a better driver than most and he says the Scirocco is a better car than the RS so who am i to discount his conclusion
The word Trounce was simply to get your attention and it has. Better than starting a thread that exclaimed 'Scirocco is slighly better than the Focus RS'
I'll admit the RS is a fabulous car - just not as good as the new Scirocco
End of.

I think the point he is making, is for the money the VW is the better buy. I suspect a lot of this is to do with the DSG gearbox.
I think its time Ford and Vx bit the bullet and go down this route.

I think Ford and Vx are a wee bit low on R&D funds!
I'm still amazed they managed to do such a good job of the Focus (not just the RS) and the latest Mondeo with almost no money.
A small thing that really annoys me about the Focus - and it really is small. They make their rear parcel shelves out of old cereal packets and make their boot hinges out of paperclips.

i read top gear magazine this week, and they didnt rate the 'rocco r as highly as its competitors..not worthy of an r badge they reckoned, and not signifigantly better than the previous hottest version......horses for courses....i cant see a focus rs buyer anting a 'rocco r anyhow...they are comopareable on paper but not in reality....totally different appeals..one is understated, strong words, softly spoken and the other hardly hdes its light under any bushels, shouts its intentions far and wide to all and sundry...

TBH i would have any of the two of them and if i get a buyer for my STi i will get a RS, some say the R is better others dont.
I dont really take much notice of all the journos tbh however if i was to listen to anyone it would be EVO.
Its like a film review, they say its great, you go to flicks and its pure shi*e. just trying to justify thier job,lol
