So's that.

Thing is it's not the first time you've complained about a good quote that ABW have given you is it?

Nobody has their head up ABW's bullet hole as you put it. You asked where to take your car and you got a response of where people would take their car if they needed body work doing.

Anyway back on track.

Could you not make a temporary repair to tide you over for now? Just until you decide where to take it to have the work done?

In short i want it gone. a simple welded plate in the hole and made smooth ready for a Vinyl covering. No painting or other things just a plate!!

I can remove the Sunroof myself if it saves me a few pennys, could you possably give me a quote to do the job??

i have been quoted 2 -3 even £400 to do it which i really think takes the **** as to a pro welder would take a short amount of time to do!!

thanks for your time and i hope to hear from you soon!

You're gonna have all sorts of trouble trying to weld a plate in there mate . It'll distort the whole roof , the only way I'd do it is change the whole roof panel .

ite bud, what sort of price would i be looking to have this done?

cheers

you'd need to remove front and rear screens , roof lining and the interior mate , cost wise without painting you be looking at £500 ish

cool... where are you based again? and how long would you want the car for?

cheers

I'm between Tiptree and Maldon
CM98LS postcode

how long would you want the car for?

Just a week if you don't want it painted mate

so let me get this right, i got to remove my interior, roof lining, windscreen and rear window have to trailor my car there (as its illegal to drive with no screen) you have my car for a week to spot weld a new roof in for £500??

have i got this correct?

no mate you've got to bring me your car and a new roof

Scoobyman from a completely unbiased point of view there have been a few companies the esc have used over the year's that no longer seem to be in favour due to one reason or another, but abw has alway's seemed to have great feedback the esc as a whole don't blow smoke up any company's *** as their car's are too precious for that.
On a lighter note there are a few who love to wind people up as they're bored at work

ok maybe a bit rude but im annoyed....

The point everyone is making is that the price quoted for that job sounds reasonable - whether you go to ABW or not. A quote for half that sounds very much like a recipe for disaster.

I agree thats a good quote but i was not quoted that to start with, confusing pms etc, im sure they will come out as proof soon!

If the price is outside your budget then there is little you can do apart from save or go with the cheaper quote. We all suggest you save.

I wanted to go with ABW in the first place and would of been willing to save £500. im not telling tales on a live public forum but id rather go somwhere else! There reputation is mint i know, as was another company i got recomended to from here, and they were a night mare too!!! seems word of mouth is not always the best option unless you "in the right crowd"
Simples!

Chronologically speaking I think the thread postings were unfortunate.

Stu,

I take it that was directed at me?

TBH it does sound like a VERY good price, but the car is only worth @£3.5k. Hopefully I'll be getting a new car within a year (RS now on order ), therefore it doesn't seem financially sensible to start spending big money on it to look pretty.

What do you reckon?
