I have left this until I was able to speak to LKR about last months.

I have been asked to drop 2 drivers from the event.

Alex (Supercues son) - he was obviously not ready to drive these
karts. Andy spoke to me on the night and said that in hindsight his
taking part was an error.

Tiny - for 'repeated deliberate dangerous driving'.


There were other drivers involved, I know that & so do LKR.

For next months race I have been told that ANYONE who doesn't
obey the flags WILL be black flagged.


I personally would like to draw a line under it at this point.

I arrange this for everyones enjoyment & I hope the fun continues.
Will everyone on the list please confirm they still want to come,
those who haven't paid, please do so by posers (let me know if a
problem). I will be paying the balance for this on Monday 7th Sept.
If payment is not received, places will be offered to the reserves !!

I have given this careful consideration over the past 24 hours and Personally Supercues son ( Alex ) should of been in no danger on the night if everyone had driven with due care when approaching him. I have raced go karts many times when considerably slower participants have been on the track for the first time, given another chance they soon pick it up.
I have to agree the standard of driving and lack of respect for the rules at the last round was appalling but for the circuit to bear a grudge a couple of weeks later towards one of the drivers in my opinion is very narrow minded and for this reason I choose to withdraw from any further races at Lakeside.

 

Simon, you choice obviously. Drivers have not been banned, & circuit does not bear a grudge. I was asked that neither returned this month. Andy stated to me on the night that he could see that Alex was not ready. He spoke to the marshalls & organisers about this too.
I think if Tiny had done likewise the outcome may have been different. He chose to go without saying anything & has not said anything to me since.

I hope this isn't a case of sheep & shepherd.

Someone has to decide when a driver is driving in a way that endangers others.

If others feel the same let me know & I'll drop the whole thing. It's not worth the bother sorting it.

I'll go back to the kit car meets & leave it at that.

I think people have minds of their own.

As long as Supercue is whiter than white and he did the right thing thats ok, I've seen him drive like a ???? on public roads, as some of members do (not all I might add) think that is more dangerous

And did you, George not bash Tiny into the tyres aswell. oh but that fine is it ??

BTW, I did not push Tiny into the tyres, however I was rammed twice by him on the start straight, as you weren't there I don't see how you can comment.

The reason for leaving this a couple of weeks before speaking to Lakeside was to let the dust settle. They had considered just stopping us doing this as a group.

I don't want to stop organising this but unless people are willing to give their support, that is what will happen.

As I said before WHO STILL WANTS TO DO THIS ??

Not nice when things get out of hand is it and things get spoilt. had first hand experience with that.

Surely this can be sorted by a simple Extra Briefing for any outlandish driving from the previous session
This is then sorted before the redmist decends for the race

Whilst I wasn't there I am sure there was no malice meant by ANY person driving perhaps just a bit of fun gone a little to far

It would be a shame to see anyone excluded from what was turning into a regular event

 

phil from a neutral point of view as i take neither side, we were ALL warned in the briefing before the race

 

Not certain if there are any sides Mike but understand what you say

I just feel that a talk about the previous session before the next one would have probably sorted the issue

Banning someone is always going to leave a bad taste

Just my humble opinion of course

 

i know what your saying phil and perhaps taking sides was a wrong comment

 

i am confirmed as attending
not taking sides or having a go but just a few notes
bad driving should result in a black flag followed by a months ban
that green light on the start finish line needs to go
the marshals are not blameless in this
people should know better than to bring a novice to an ESC karting championship


on a personal note i hope simon changes his mind and still drives this event
and hope tiny will return after the months ban is served

 

All as I asked and stated in the first place.

Green light on the start line should not have been on as only used to start the race.
