Here is the inlet manifold I am about to fit to an STi 3/4 project engine. The internal surfaces of the runners and plenum have been similarly smoothed and the coating is designed to keep the cold of the cold air in and the warmer engine bay temperatures out.

Fuel rail photos will follow to your email address.
I don't think a manifold like this is a commercial proposition. It is for my own use so I cleaned it up in a chemical bath and then had it extrude honed to clean out the casting marks and roughness inside and it was then clear ceramic coated internally and externally to greatly enhance the thermal barrier so the ACT is not influenced by cylinder head or engine bay heat. The inside runners are smooth.
Previously I saw someone slagging the ceramic coating you got from Camcoat. As far as I know the only difference between the ceramic coating you got from them and the white stuff that you have seen pictures of is the final applcation. I guess the people at Warrington could give you it white or perhaps any other colour you want except tartan. Camcoat can clear coat your inlet manifold but I would use a chemical bath or chemical media to both clean and polish the manifold. That would be far more economical than hours of your own time actually polishing it.

righty ho

camcoat could do white , just the black was what i was after for peformance reasons - it was about what the coating could do rather then looks, as your hardly going to see them much

Cheers Jon : I have measured the heat on the surface of items coated with both types of coating and from what I can determine, although not very scientific, neither coating was ant better than the other.

Daone, have a quick read of this thread i believe black attracts heat, which aint good

Iv found a company called surface solutions that will do my manifold to a mirror finish, just like RCM offer but its £100 cheaper and you dont exchange your manifold...so works out quite a lot cheaper!

it does look like black is a bad colour, but this it will go well with my engine bay. unless you can think of a better colour?

most of the red has flaked off now, so doesnt look as good as in this pic
