Anyway, back on track....... it's barbaric to slit an animals throat and let it bleed to death. I'd be happier if it were stunned first - but I guess that's not Halal - but why not* - surely you're just taking away the animals suffering; the washing, blessing and bleeding of the animal remains the same?

Basically because it has to know it is being offed... that and a prayer is said as has been pointed out. Oh and like Kosher stuff i think it has to stay apart from animals considered unclean but the likelyhood of them mixing is tiny.

Anyone having watched Kill it Cook it Eat it will know the rest of the stuff about it being fit for slaughter is twaddle because all meat through UK slaughterhouses is treated like that and the animals are put to as little stress as possible.

Apart from a bit of a pray the only thing Halal does is make sure that the throat is cut without any pain killer.

It is a shame that so many Islamic countries are rife with corruption and abuse. One would think the faithful would pay attention to the bigger orders such as not ripping each other off then get all moany about a KFC or the odd cartoon.

ive started eating a lot of fish lately i think thats the only meat you can eat with out worrying too much

 

I think sometimes its easy to have a pop at the Halal/Muslim thing, oh its so cruel etc etc without any actual experience or proof, no method of offing an animal is particularly kind as they still end up dead, intensive battery farming is cruel so rather than bleating on about it either go veggie or stop moaning, sometimes it just seems like a thinly veiled dig at Islam (Kosher is pretty mush the same process but tends to be ignored as the Jewish are generally white and people seem more tolerant towards Jews than Muslims, but then over here there arent any Jewish terrorist cells I suppose) rather than actual concern, Muslims aint perfect, neither are British or any other race, creed, religion etc, lets just try to get along as neither party is going anywhere, both parties need to adapt and understand each other as at the moment its like my kids bickering.

Anyway, a Chicken kebab on skewer with salad from your local Kebab shop is where its at, not breaded deep fried ****e.

i like halal meat, it tastes nicer, dunno why. i got like a bag of meat once for like a tenner. dunno what it was but it cooked up alright.
