Heres a pic of the 03 car, or S9 and S10 as the WRC's are known. Notice the radically different vent opening with a much sharper and edgey design.

Frayz,
just a thought on the weight of the various bonnet options. You could place a pair of reasonably accurate scales under the latch pin, and ask somebody like Wimprezawrx to do the same. Wouldn't tell you the actual weight, but should give an indication if one was heavier or lighter.

Might be a daft idea

Could still use the same location point though, and a block of wood.

Well...

I think ive done it. I had a call from a rather nice fella earlier to say he had managed to track down a genuine Prodrive S7 carbon fibre vent surround.

He's going to collect it for me next week and send me some pictures. Ive mixed feelings at the moment as it still may not be the correct one but he seems to think so.

If it is, and ive managed to locate probably the rarest WRC part im ever likely to look for i'll be extatic.

So fingers crossed, i may well have a genuine S7 WRC vent going on...

Well chuffed... Thankyou for everyone who has contributed to the search

xclent news Frayz, got all my digits X'd 4 ya

on another note, I had a good look at Tiny's bonnet last night and I think that it is a very good match to the OE one, looks same size and design - if all fails then I think ABW is the answer

I too have looked at it mate and i felt it was too far from the genuine article for me to want to fit.

Lets see how we get on next week

Frayz,

Great read this mate. Please keep them coming. I love but hate reading your write up bud as they tempt me too much.

Waiting for my Prodrive diff guard now. And I am adding a lower Prodrive grille (but the misses doesn't know that).

Well done mate your car looks fab.

Car sounds spot on mate

Proof (if it was ever needed) that you dont need either a well known, popular make or a big exit pipe to have the burble or decent volume.

Your custom back box sounds as good if not better than most popular brands i have seen and heard, Blitz, Afterburner etc.

I also like how it blows the gravel and spits the flame aswell, nice one.
