Well not much has gone on recently really

The car is SORN and due to have the motor pulled. However i have one fundamental issue.... im still waiting on my new crank.

FFS its doing my head in and i have done as much as i possibly can but now im stuck and just waiting for that to arrive and i can crack straight on with the build.

Today i tried to keep up my interest in the car by welding a fitting onto my boost pipe for my new Tial 50mm BOV.

Heres a pic just to show.

Other than that its all pretty quiet at camp frayz, and im feeling pretty dispondant with it if im honest

(Please ignore the orange vac line, its just for the purpose of testing it was working until i get new vac lines.)

What a thread! Just spent about an hour engrossed in it! Frayz you have a cracking motor there. You are so lucky you do most of it yourself. Could probably easily double the cost(and more) if you had to get others to do everything that you've done.
Picking up my WR1 tomorrow hopefully! Was gonna keep it standard but after reading this you've inspired me to maybe do some 'light' modding!
Well done mate and keep the modding up! Any video clips of the car?

Fraser.

Cheers fella.

Sorry no vid of the car yet im affraid. Hopefully i'll be looking to get some when the cars nearer completed.

However with the way im feeling waiting for parts at the moment i feel like breaking the damn thing up and selling it.

Ive put in an absolute sghedload of time and effort as you can see but the longer i wait for parts etc the closer i am to selling and going back to the RS marque.

Wow after all that time and effort i would be keeping that car a life time! Must be frustrating when you know if you had the parts they could be on the car by now. One of the best examples if not the best of a modded sti around imo. When i see that im wondering if i should've bought a sti now!

Cheers guys.

Im pretty level headed normally and i fully appreciate that some things take time but i wont be taken the **** out of and it really fu*ks me off when people do not deliver when they say they will.

If you cant get my parts, or there is a delay. Fu*king say so, give me my money back and i'll go elsewhere. Waiting on myself i dont have a problem with as im the last person to rush anything. But i cant stand having to wait and rely on ther people.

This is the exact reason why i dont let others work on my car...

Ive waited over a year for a set of coilovers and am now 2 wweks for a crank.

My car is SORN and sitting doing sod all and i cant even make a start...

The more i look at it the more i want to sell

Seriously mate... ive had enough of it.

Breaking the car could fund a nice MK2 escort with a YB in it. Okay might not be as capable but a shedload more fun and loads more intersting.

Just losing my passion for the scoob now and its one thing after another. Id say im exceptionally patient but ive had enough now

I know what you mean mate. A few of my mates and I were discussing this very thing the other day.

Selling up and buying some old skool Ford to tool around in!

Hence my other thread from a while ago

Frayz, just because two items you are waiting on are delayed for one reason or another, but to through it all away just because the parts are not with you when you would of like them to be is just silly and wasteful.

I think what you need is a different distraction to take your mind off the Scoob. You never know, the parts might actually turn up whilst you are busy doing something else....Ever heard the saying "a watch pot never boils"?

frayz, don't even think of selling the car. i have times when i hate my car because of one thing or another, but when i get out on a country road its straight back up there and i wouldn't dream of selling it. just think what the car will be like once you have built the engine.

it will be one of the best imprezas around.

give the people a ring where you ordered the parts from find out how long it will take, also find somewhere that has the parts in stock and go there instead?

good luck with everything though mate

Im waiting on a phone call to try and sort this gear out.

If i dont get a call and things dont get sorted soon then fu*k it... its going.

Fed up of being dicked around by people... i dont look like a cu*t, i dont treat people like cu*ts so i dont expect to be treated like one myself.

Wimpreza- The motor is still in the car but its sitting there SORN waiting to be done. At the moment i have thousands of pounds worth of engine parts here that i cant do sod all with because i dont have a fu*king crank.

A crank that should of been here weeks ago. The fact that my coilovers have also been on order for over a year is grating on me too. You boys know what im like. I buy the best i can afford for my car. Yet i cant belive these companies manage to treat customers the way they do

Hmmmmm...sounds like you already have your mind made up Frayz!!

I don't think I'd be wanting to get rid of a car I'd put so much effort into making "individual", but I do understand where you are coming from when you get pissed off with suppliers not delivering when they should, etc.

Take heart in the fact that your car will be worth the wait mate........plenty of folks have watched and admired your mods and progress with the car......don't be too hasty with your decision...... all the best jobs and projects have delays and unexpected problems, but it's getting over these that makes the effort all the more worthwhile.

Be patient......I am amongst many that want to see the car "finished"

frayz i no how you feel about waiting on things turning up for the car it gets you down (well does me i feel lost an pi**ed off) then instead of the seller telling you the truth they fob you off an they think your stupid when you no whats goin on or you no they are doin nothing about it

but dont get rid of the scooby mate its an awesome car an you have poor so much effort into it an to throw that a way will be wasteful just hold out an when its all done you will be glad you went through an finished it off

Hang in there Frayz - my car has been off the road for 10 months and its still not ready [my original plan was 3 months!!!] - ive spent soooooooooooooo much money and time - but car modding is never easy if you want to do it properly. I waited 6 months for an up pipe - but it was worth the wait.
