I will be connecting a media centre pc which will do all my tv work, xbox 3670, wii and an amp, and speakers to a pioneer 5090 or krp500a. Will be a floating wall, but it will have a high gloss plastic covering (samples recieved today) tv will sit out of it exactly like yours avi on a cantilever bracket. As for furniture, I have gone for some cooke and lewis kitchen units from B & Q these are tall enough to house my electrical goodies and the doors for them are a high gloss black finish. The doors for the unit housing the electricals also has a glass front so all remote controls should work!!! (certainly stop the baby pulling wires anyway!!)

Speakers will also be in the wall (left, right and centre), and shelving units will be on either side with some subtle lighting.
Keep us updated.. sounds excellent!

will do, have started a thread on av and will update that once I get started. Might give you a shout seeing as your in manchester It looks excellent as well (in my head anyway just need to translate it)

May now be going for a high gloss black wall where the tele will be sat so need to ring the plastic company up tomorrow to see if they can do black and in a custom size (dont want to cut it myself as will probably **** it up )

I do also plan on having a blue light placed behind the tv thus giving a subtle (hopefully) glow around the tv (wife wants black wall so I want blue light ) plan on using a pc neon type thing and will make a lead up which will go from the media centre so no extra power supply needed. Also found some clear acrylic tubes as well so my mind is going overtime now

Sure thing! I presume you've seen the ropelights from TLC that i'm using,?

Duralite Rope Lights

It's available in loads of colours ay less than 2 a metre. I've got some more to go round the back of the tv to create the "ambilight style" glow.

dont worry, the approx 14 litres of brilliant white I have just done the room in will keep him amused (and away from the business end )

My existing plasma has just gone last night as well, load of red and green snow on any video source, could be an easy ish repair though, if not it means I get my new tv a bit quicker
