Brilliant roads

Its a great drive, but you cant put the foot down much now. The roads are in such a fooking mess, same as all the roads up here in the Highlands. We dont have potholes, we have fooking moon craters.

think that's pretty much the same all over tbh - some of the roads round my way look more like something out of feckin Beirut than anything else! Makes ya wonder where all the road tax money goes sometimes

This is a spirited drive around my way, and that of many others I would imagine.

I'd give up driving every B road in the UK to live in California!

You have everything! Beaches, mountains, lakes, cities, hot weather, skiing weather.... It's just not fair!

If you do come to the UK, (note UK, not England as most Americans think it's called!) don't just go to London and visit all the touristy bits, or Stratford-upon-Avon, Windsor Castle etc. Come and visit some proper places.

I'm sure all Americans think we live in Stately homes and have butlers! And if not, why are we always depicted like that and talking like we've got plums in our mouths!? (I'm from Essex, so definitely not lol!)

Yep Horton to Ribblehead, I use to go up there with my XR3 as well To say I only live a few miles from this road I only ever go there once a year or so. If you turn right and follow it to the Buttertubs there are some great bits of road.

Had a run out with the guys from LADS last year that took in all those nice roads.

What do you think would be some good proper places to visit. I do plan on making a trip over there at some point in my life to check things out.

I have never been a big fan of tourist traps and things like that anyway, I like to get to see some real parts of a country.

Unfortunately it's true that a big majority of American's do believe in all the stereo type's about other cultures

But not all of us!!!

The Peaks are stunning this is true, and there are some GREAT driving roads nearby

For someone coming over from the West Coast frankly you'll be gob-smacked at anywhere you drive, and the ALL the roads really ARE that narrow

Who's going to explain rounabouts?
