Not yet, I forgot about that.

This will be done before I put the engine bits back on.

Though I might need to have alittle word with someone.

Not you as well, though I know someone who is willing to sell the roof vent.

Its in white from an RA, his username is RA-Grant though if you want this I'd be very quick as I think he's scrapping his shell tomorrow or Tuesday.

I'm looking for 320bhp max until next year, which I'll then do the engine mod's in more detail.

I'm still looking to have my dash done but it'll probably be the end of April.

Remind to oneself, read the manual next time before starting

Of course I didn't realise this until my old man looked at a online manual and found out about the bearing issue.

The only plus side to this, it appears I have a now a good 2nd gearbox which I thought was duff

Now I gotta spend another couple of hours to take the ruddy box back off.

Oh well another delay, whats new.

As Matt says, the clutch works opposite to a standard clutch where the fork pulls the release bearing from the clutch assembly rather than push as most engines.

You can get enough spare dashboard parts from over the water Mat for a flocking session then flock the one you take out... failing that how about alcantara ?

Default Rollcage Fitting

Hi Matt,

Some thing for you to ponder when installing your rollcage,

1, Consult/Read MSA Blue book...

As you have said you will be doing track days, (sprints/hill climbs, a possabillity), to comfirm to insurance/safety reg`s there is a min requirment of build you must meet, many people get caught out by this as it will only effect you if you ever have a accident (god forbid) and the insurers wont pay up for third party damages, as they always qoute the blue book, as these are the standards used in motorsport..

Be aware its heavy reading, good to see things are coming along, (pic`s paint a thousand words), good luck, will pop over when I get back from my travels..

Regards, John

Cheers John, I'm gonna have rummage through the internet for a copy of the MSA book.

As for pic's, at the moment it looks no different. Its all underneath mechanically wise.

Its still on the axle stands until the weekend, I'm then gonna drag the car out of the garage so I can do the Oil cooler, rear suspension and also to start to remove all the interior to fit the cage, so yeah its coming along nicely.

Yeah pop over if you want, I can then tackle your brain regarding the suspension.

Well the car is finally back together and was hoping to have the car running today but unfortunately it wasn't to be.

The car wont attempt to create a spark and I'm at a loss as to what can cause this, we've check afew things MAF has been ruled out as I borrowed Daz's MAF sensor and it still failed to start.

We are thinking it could be :

Crank sensor
Cam sensor
Throttle sensor - -but if this has failed it should still run but abit lumpy
Fuse somewhere
ECU wiring

Or possibly as I've got a DCCD gearbox and I can't wire this up currently as the box has a 2 pin connector where the main loom has a 4 pin connector, if the ECU detects this will it stop the spark being created as its thinking the box has a problem .

If anyone has any idea's then please let me know.

Cheers
Matt

it cant be the main fuse as it turnes over and all the lights on the dash come up so i think weve ruled this out.i think its the dccd wiring plug and this is a break in the circuit and thats stopping the power to the coilpacks.it turns over lovely but just wont fire theres fuel in the rails pump turns as normal.its something small i know it.
