Got the kit yesterday with a nice surprise. Kit does include 2 lamps. The first kit that was supplied to the dealer only had one. When he re-ordered for the second he got 2.

It's been wet all day and as my garage is full of the usual I've not got them on yet. Gonna see what they're like with halogens before I think about HIDs.

Ha! Amazing, so if someone bought that kit, he could go away saying they were too expensive Who on earth sends out a kit of TWO lights with only one in it???
A bolt, or a coonector missing, OK, I could go with that, but a whole light?

Actually I only paid for the second set so didn't even need the refund. Dunx just read your mail and they are gone. Thanks for the thought. Now all I need is a dry couple of hours.

Pat

Default Hella !

Found that a cool replacement, they are the Dynaview units, same size, but have two reflectors, one for straight ahead, and another for cornering, ( with a lateral G-sensor ) !

Googled it and found sets at £125 a pair.

Even I'm tempted at that price

These:

Hella DynaView Spotlights spotlamp lights NEW spot lamp on eBay, also Fog Spot Lights, Lights Lighting Accessories, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 26-Dec-08 19:48:01 GMT)

I need a replacement for my PIAA's, and if these are plastic backed too, it would be a good buy.
Whats the stance on driving on the road with them on? PS, i'm not one of them people that have foglights on all the time, but if I had latergl G sensors, I wouldn't want to have to switch them off everytime a car is coming.

FF1000 will be H1 fitment bulbs.

Land Rover Dealers tend to deal alot with Hella products.

Dynaview looks interesting. They are listed as H1 fitment also, but not sure if this refers to both bulbs.

NO !

They are driving lamps, for use with main beam.... With a g-sensor to switch a "cornering" lamp on. NOT fog-lights at all.

HTH

AFAICS, one bulb is lit for driving, like an aux main beam, and the other ones come on if you are cornering. I suppose the n/s one if you are turning left etc.

My lad's Renault Clio Sport 197 has similar, three bulbs per headlight, one dip, one main, one cornering

The top bit is the main driving light, which puts me off a touch, its only a third of the size of the 1000FFs. Look a bit odd too..

It does look a little gimmicky. Driving light doesn't look like it would produce anything close to the FF1000.

Apparently uses H3 bulbs.

Don't be fooled by size, BOB, the Hella 90mm units, as fitted to the P1, were fantastic, and outstanding in HID form.

And that despite being nearly 4.5 times smaller surface area of a FF1000.

It's down to reflector/lens design..........Scoob classic OE headlights are quite large, and no-one needs telling how utterly crap THEY are
