Is Scoobynet better since Internet Brands took over
One thing has crossed my mind that I don't think has been mentioned yet:
How long will it be before they yearly payment/subcsription will be made compulsary to all members? It is a profit making site now.......

Nail hit firmly on head ...... Infraction System needs to disappear - until that happens it will never be the great place it once was.
Why?
have a look at the amount of years he has been here. The amount of posts he made And the amount of posts others made on his threads etc
What makes you better than him? He is liked by many. He earned his place many years ago.
Same as old "moses"
might have had a "interesting" view of life but it was REFRESHING . At least he thought out of the box and was fun. Never rude and 100% polite and friendly in real life. His posts where amazing at times. Great fun.
shame he had to be subject to racism

You could of course say that its the usual suspects who are singing his praises (and infracting his detractors)
Simon is clearly an individual who polarises opinions among those who have "closer" dealings with him. His posting style (as has been evidenced time and time again on this BBS) was to be increadibly "matey" with his supporters, and somewhat "condescending" to his detractors. That's his perogative, of course, but arguably not the best approach to take given his (former) position. On the other hand, I have to commend him for getting off the fence in his later years as Webmaster.
Its just life, mate. Not everyone gets on. If you took away the usual suspects from both camps, I suspect there would be very little being discussed about Simon's departure at all. After all, in an approximation of his own words on another thread, the vast majority of the membership doesn't even know he exists.
Which, to be fair, would be to evidence his overall success in the role.
What I don't get, though, is that it appears the usual suspects (in either camp) are the more prolific posters. That may be real, or it may simply be perception. Either way, it says something.

Pete is nonetheless banned on sight, that's got to be as good an example of abuse of the infraction system that you could get really hasn't it?
Phil, surely it's common knowledge that there are a lot of people that have it in for Pete, as there are a lot of people that have it in for other members too, that's why the system doesn't work and never will. The sooner the infraction system's a thing of the past the better. You never know, some people might even start to return?
its been said so many times
Most of us never ever wanted or agreed with the PATHETIC Infraction idea. But as a "community" it seemed only a "few" where listened to. Then it turned into what can only be described as a schoolboy witch hunt. little gangs forming and playing games. All wanting to be the "kings and Queens" (some more "Queen " than they where born.....)
the voting system is the best and most honest way to decide. Allowing less than 5 members to decide is madness.
Simon did make it almost impossible to have a "opinion" over the last few years. As mentioned some of his replies alone deserved him to be questioned as to why he had to be rude. it will be nice to see if the new "ADmin" is not so abusive when asked a simple question by someone who has to fight a silly infraction etc
