No actually if you read what I wrote I am talking about the MkVI and the 7 speed DSG which will come with it. R36 Golf (MkVI I repeat) according to them expected late next year, and also Scirocco R36 around the same time.
They don't want to sell me anything now ....

I know that you were talking about the Mk6 as well. The only reason I mentioned the Mk5 R36 was to highlight the point about deposits. . . .
As mentioned, the BASE Mk6 ISN'T due until spring/summer next year, (and that's europe, we don't get it for a couple of months after that!)and I would be surprised if the R-version comes out within a few months. It was over 18 months later from the Mk5 launch (Feb 2004 in UK)to the Mk5 R32 (Oct 2005)
The truth is that your dealer can't possibly know FOR SURE, just like I don't!
I was only pointing out that SOME of what you have been told is "Hearsay", not definitive. . . . TBH I'm trying to help, not hinder! ! ! !

No probs, got it
BTW I am in Europe (Italy) so perhaps here it will be sooner?
Either way to me doesn't matter too much as for my MkV R32 I am on a 3 years finance deal which will be paid-off in June 2010, so I will change only then. Probably for a Golf again ... Scirocco looks good but I might need the rear doors ...
