PMSFL @ Biker's
Sports bikes are the shizzle. Rode my mates Gixxer Thou K5 this morning. First time on a litre bike (previously had an R6).
Christ on a warship that thing is quick. Mind meltingly quick in fact. How anyone who owns one can keep their license longer than a week I will never know.

Would be up for putting the bike on the strip against a 500bhp Scooby but am too far away
must be other takers though.Wouldn't think of putting my Scooby on strip would probably brake the box or clutch launching it, fast cars are too temperamental bikes are the future
I never chase after vehicles but in this one particular situation I couldn't help myself. A friend has a picture of me along side the ferrari 355
and the porker threw a milkshake at me mates car for some reason ??? Must of been upset he was too slow
Explain king of the road and why it applies to most bikers.
As a biker i would love to know what bracket i fall into.
Reading your post in the speeding thread maybe you will be less inclined to persue anyone now.
Anyone keep up with this loon...

You must have found a pair of old school bikes if you left them
Or did they have fat back tyres
Never riden one. As stated above you'd need to be mad to get on one IMHO. All I know is that I can keep up with them, sometimes fairly easily & sometimes I do have to gun it to do so. Only time that a bike ever gets away from me when I'm actually trying (to date) is on a busy road where traffic means I can't keep up (wouldn't want to as too dangerous).
My point is that in the real world a bikes advantage is not massive despite the obvious power advantage.

The only conclusion i can come up with then is that you have never come across a rider who is good enough to keep up with you. I think with the power your car is running it would be seriously quick and a match for most things on the road but please go and have a go on a big sports bike. I was the same as you years ago had a pretty quick car (250bhp Rs turbo) then a friend took me out on the bike and let me know just how slow the car was. Not saying that you are going to like the bike but if your into speed there is no comparison trust me go and try one.
Some funny stuff in this tread, but here's my input from experience...History. just in case some McDonanalds car park lot at reading this
, 350LS in the 80's wasn't bad did a bit of proddy racing could wheelie from 1ist to 3rd and hold it for a mile say... now have a vfr800
Done a bit of clubmans rallying in the 90's and a fair bit of karting, won a few things so not done too bad
Not as brave as i was on a bike but hey I'm 40 and realise i may be dead if I fooookup and i have 3 kids so plan on not doing
anyhow recent: Sti running mid 12's in the 1/4 and Ariel atom 320-bhp low 11's to high 10's -10.7 best if i could get traction
just so you get an idea of relative experience.....
Forgot MKII escort rally car, with BdA
====================================
So my scoob down a b road was generally quicker than I could go on any bike, gixxer 100000000
included.... Atom was daft fast on smooth road and around any corner was much faster than you could go on a bike, full stop...i.e. with my knee down on the vfr i can do 48mph around my fav roundabout, smooth grippy tarmac, maybe not alot faster on a 1098, with ultra grippy rubber, the Atom did the same corner at 60mph,,, and was around as fast to 100 as a gixxer Thou...at 5 seconds, but was crap, and i mean ****e, down a country lane in the same way a Fazzer f430 is...So conclusion IMO, 1000cc Bike much much quicker giver a smooth bit of road, and some straights; Atom as quick on smooth road, (only .5 second difference to 100mph) alot quicker on the corners and much much better under braking ( i was hanging from the belts when the fronts were warm)
over my fav run up in the dales the Sti would have murdered the Atom and any bike that i could ride... Don't kid yourself lookin at TT on bike vids as 1, the TT course is relativly smooth and 2, the guys are mad and pro's !!!!!
so a well setup Scoob, Evi ScoobADishi would be quicker, by a fair amount... + you could be quicker with only 60% driver talent compared to a bike....
To be very quick on a bike you need to be in your twenties and talented... and even then you'd have a job keeping up with the Atom and no chance on a bumpy country road against a scoob.. scoob would'nt see wich way a CBR1000RR went on a smooth road with a good rider though...
hope that makes sense.
had a few tinniesDaz

Its quite funny but my mate has a Ninja 600cc, he saw a scoob on the M60 about a month ago and decided to give it a blast down the slip road, on looking down to his left the scoob was still right beside him, he was a little shocked to say the least lol and yes his bike does run correctly
