Have you ever been in a 500bhp + car
Been in a very nice Lotus Carlton not sure how powerful they are but was very quick also driven a work colleges Audi RS4 which i think are around 450bhp and also been a passenger in a 07 911 twin turbo which i was told was 650bhp but cannot say it was for certain so i suppose yes i have been in a 500bhp+ car but have you ever riden any of the above bikes???

I don't think an Audi RS4 would give my car any reason for concern and when I was on a blast on the A1 I jumped inbetween 3 cars a newshape M5 a ferrari 355(07 plate) and a porsche 911 turbo (07 plate) when we accelerated away the porsche was way back in the distance and the ferrari and M5 wouldnt pull over as we hit the bends, me mate was watching it all in his car and said I spent more time on the brakes. Obviously I know these cars will beat mine top end but up to a certain speed I don't think I have anything to worry about
I don't think cars really stand a chance against most sports bikes these days. The power to weight ratios speak for themselves and they accelerate quicker than most supercars let alone Subarus.
I've had a few tussles with superbikes and although being able to keep up with them round the corners, even the 600cc bikes fly away from me as soon a straight appears (I've got 255 bhp but I doubt anything under 400bhp would keep up with a 600cc sportsbike)

erm, nothing. I'm merely commenting on the debate that's been started about cars keeping up with bikes. I doubt yours could keep up with the bike you mentioned if it was being ridden properly.
Still, I understand your point that he saw the Subaru and accelerated to prove a point

You still hav'nt answered the question have you ever riden any of the bikes listed? In my opinion all of those bikes in the hands of a decent rider will destroy anything this side of a Veryon whether it be on a road or a track. Its simple car may be 500+bhp but weights over a ton bike on the other hand 180bhp and less than 200kgs there really is no comparison bikes are quiker in the right hands get over it. I have and went and bought one you should do the same if you want to go really fast.

i know exactly what u meant in your very first post every 90 % of bikes i come across in my spec c will do ther up most to some how over take or under take or pull in front at a set of traffic lights...
I am all up for it if they want to have safe liitle play but but the last time a guy on an r6 decided to position him self at the front of the traffic lights when i was there first decided to give me the ******* sigh when i still decided to make the fast progress i was thinking of doing before he decided to pull in front off me..

RCwhite I know what you mean but when "the rig" put it into perspective , its just that they get bored and want to play. I understand that
Its just funny that very biker thinks EVERY bike is fast

he's still there
In the real world thats a quick car and driven well it should'nt have many problems staying with most things out there
im a speed freak/ adrenalin junkie so i indulge in anything that gives me a buzz! but in the my ***** are bigger than yours stakes theres nothing quite like riding a 1bhp horse at 20 odd mph over a cross country course or through a wood on a narrow track! so take note fellow bikers you aint all that untill you ridden a real BEAST

Real beast my ****
1bhp doesn't do it for me.
I like to be in control, I know more people that get injuries from horse riding than I do riding bikes.
I like to be in control of what I ride if my bike spits me off only myself to blame, the wagon that dropped the diesel or the horse that left sh** in the road
But in the my **** is bigger than yours you may have won with a horse

Being both a bike rider & Scoob owner It's a tough call on who would be quickest around the twisties. However in both it's all dependant on your ability & attitude to your & others safety.
I have chased bikes in my Scoob & kept them well in sight..around the twisties, but the bikes of today are so capable & handle so well it would very difficult to keep up with a decent bike rider on even a smaller cc machine.
I remember being at Doningnton park in the very early 80's when the track record for the short circuit was 1m 14.6 sec's held by I think Randy Mamola. At the John Player event John player had one of their banned F1 cars to have a play around the circuit, the guy driving it was a mechanic as the driver initially down to drive did not show. This guy 'a mechanic' lapped Donington well under the already set track record in under 1 minute..I think 59secs though don't quote me.
That was indeed a great site
Answer to the question has to be slightly biased towards the bikes i'm afraid, though that is dependant on circumstance, conditions & type of road ahead.
I always remember the road between Kidderminster & blakedown prior to the traffic calming measures taken. I was pretty quick through that on my old but not std CB900f...a car would not have lived with me at all.
Though with today's cars and bikes sheer ability it would be a very close call...it's all down to nerve

Hmmm you were very lucky to join the A1 amongst that lot.....What are the chances??????

Never riden one. As stated above you'd need to be mad to get on one IMHO. All I know is that I can keep up with them, sometimes fairly easily & sometimes I do have to gun it to do so. Only time that a bike ever gets away from me when I'm actually trying (to date) is on a busy road where traffic means I can't keep up (wouldn't want to as too dangerous).
My point is that in the real world a bikes advantage is not massive despite the obvious power advantage.

In the real world bikes do have a massive point to point advantage.
As you have stated once you hit traffic you are goosed.
Only on an empty road would things be different but in the real world empty roads are few and far between.
Why do you feel the need to keep up with a bike?
When out on my bike if i get a wanabe racer in his car up my chuff i wont gun it as i have a lot more to lose than him. Cars V Bikes on the road prooves nothing imo.

Sports bikes are the shizzle. Rode my mates Gixxer Thou K5 this morning. First time on a litre bike (previously had an R6).
Christ on a warship that thing is quick. Mind meltingly quick in fact. How anyone who owns one can keep their license longer than a week I will never know.
