Neither of which work for Royal mail anymore, best solution go down to your local sorting office and ask to speak to the manager in charge, trust me it works!!!!

Yup they both made a right royal mess of RM then left when the going got tough.

As above, for complaints, is the best solution.

I'm not the only postie on here then

daughters ex use to be a posty..heres how it was and is now!

Some posties start early sort mail, others make 1st delivery then return to finish sorting and make 2nd delivery.
NOW..all start at same time 5-6.30am and dont start round until sorting all done.

THATS WHY deliveries are all over the place..PLUS postmen keep changing and some are unfamiliar with the round/customers............ITS FCUKIN NUTS!!!!!!!!

Post office is generally riddled with mongs and needs to be shut down and replaced with a privatised service.

Over the last month I have had one mail delivery a WEEK !!

Yep every Friday I get a ton of mail and nothing any other day of the week.

I have suspicion and this is only a suspicion that RM holds back multiple ebay orders and "spreads" them over several days.
I have this suspicion because I have often ordered several small packages which were all shipped same day, only to find them in my mail box over several days...how could this otherwise be explained???

royal mail are a completely useless unmanageable system of staff and working practices we tried to fight them for a while with lost parcels, damaged items/ late deliveries etc then I realised that we would never win and we should work the system of lazy staff and stupid systems to our advantage

thanks royal mail you are the best delivery service in the world and we hope that you never change or update anything

They have a habit of putting any parcels I have in the bin, leaving a note saying "Left in bin, signed for by neighbor". P*sses me off.

They were talking about the Royal Mail on the radio this morning.
This may be old news but save yourself some money because there is absolutely no difference between 1st class & 2nd class mail!!!!
Since there been only one delivery a day everything gets put in the same bin.
This has been going on for many years. The people talking have actually worked for the Royal Mail so no reason not to believe it.

This also brings up the issue that if true are they not committing fraud?
Offering different services for more money & the service simply dosn't exist.

Many years ago i did temp xmas work at the RM Depot Southampton.
ALL 2nd class mail was just left in trolleys while the depot concentrated on 1st class but at least they were attempting fastest delivery of the 1st class post!
ALL PARCELS were frequently lobbed up to 20 feet into large sacks held open by frames, I often heard some unpleasant noises as they hit the frames, even FRAGILE parcels were treated this way with total contempt for the customers and this was over 30 years ago, nothing but nothing has changed!!

The best scam they have is the "insufficient postage" scam.

It used to be that, once you paid the amount due, the letter, etc was yours.

NOW you get a card, and when you go and collect it, IF the sorting office is open, they charge you the extra PLUS £1.

At Christmas, it's quite funny to stand outside the sorting office exit, watching the faces of the many, many people who go to the office, pay their £1, and come away holding a Christmas card which was deemed to be oversize, so needed a "large letter" stamp.

Happened to me..........but I declined it, told them to keep it and walked away.

The view of the faces of those leaving, knowing they have been scammed, is priceless

The practise of charging £1 plus any excess postage is the biggest con of the lot, CROZIER should be doing time for fraud!
Put everything back as it was before he got his greedy mitts on the system as at least we had a reasonably reliable next day post and 1st class underpays were delivered as 2nd class as they often came into this rate if there wasnt enough cash for 1st.
Just stamp them delivered 2nd insuffient postage 1st...not rocket science is it??

My point is that there is no such thing as 1st class post. It's a con.It all goes in the same basket.

Can anyone confirm what I heard on the radio this morning?

Quite ridiculous.

The Postie has to deliver a card to you - well instead of bringing that card, just bring the ****ing letter instead!

That'll be because the Postie has taken some parcels home to see if they're worth keeping.

When he realises the 12" Deluxe Super Dong you ordered is too big for his wife, he neatly packages it back up and then delivers it the next day.

Hth.

2nd delivery was phased out over 8 years ago. It was replaced with SDD (single daily deliver) as part of the 'way forward' agreement.

No not true. Your suspicion is unfounded. Of course the sender will tell you its been sent out. It means you can blame RM then

Also not true. 1st and 2nd is separated. 1st class always take priority over 2nd class or mail sort 3 etc

Ive been working at Royal Mail for 3 years on the IT and seen it all, cant vouch for stuff going missing but looks very slick setup in the Delivery Offices.

Massive setup though.

BLU unsure where you sit if your a Posty then i wont effect you but if your DO/mailcentre side upwards then i will Watch for your IT to change in the next 6 Months cos thats me :P

Since I don't work there I can't tell you what happens to the mail once I have put it in the letterbox.

Update:
My claim finally arrived and then they requested further info. I sent the requested info and guess what.... went missing in the post!! Well I am a stubborn git so I preserved by mail/email/telephone calls and lo and behold my claim was forwarded (by RM) to an independent department that is monitoring there complaints procedure. They awarded in my favor!  I think the key is to persevere and make a real nuisance of yourself.
