The white Boxer looks like the Predator, but he is really cute!

She lived til she was 15..I still miss her
They used to be quite rare, the white ones.. the kennel club don't recognise them as they feel they do not conform to breed standards,so most breeders used to have them put to sleep shortly after they were born.. I think this is a disgusting behaviour both by the KC and the breeders... seing as the majority of litters will have at least 1 white pup dependent on the parents markings/colourings

I am a moderator on two boxer forums and quite agree regarding the stance taken by the KC. Breeders do not tend to put them down as much now as they know they can get £££ for whites.... that said this only adds to the number of boxers that end up in rescue.
Unfortunately boxers tend to be bought quite often by people that want them as a status symbol and do not appreciate that generally they are as soft as crap and require lots of attention, training and exercise. The number we see and help that need rehoming because the owners cannot cope is beyond belief.
The usual story is that the dog wrecks the house because it's left for 8 hours a day - hmmm, no surprise their then or that they are bonkers due to lack of training and discipline!!
It's a real shame, IMO Boxers must be one of the softest, most loving and loyal dogs you could have the pleasure of owning! Thats not to detract from other breeds of dogs as I know that we are all individuals and some love lap dogs and others want less challenging medium - large breeds. I suppose it depends on what suits you as an individual.

You help to rehome them - thats more than some people would do Boxers are simply a superb breed - as you said they are loyal, loving, and the biggest softies you can imagine... but can also be very protective when need be... they are great with kids - all of the reasons I'v listed is what persuaded M-I-L to rehome a rescue boxer who was kept by a drug dealer apparently as a status symbol... he has been with us nearly a year now, and he is a true gem ( thats busta in my photos btw)..
Purely for the reason that we love them, and do not wish to see them harmed, we always take the pups which most other people wouldn't even look at... Jess was the white one, and Ben our current boy was the runt of the litter - they wanted to put him down as he had weeks hips.. 13 years on, and he still acts like a puppy, and his 'hip problem' was soon cured with some loving attention and exercise.. I will always have a boxer dog - no matter what!

It is a shame that the dogs have to pay the ultimate price for peoples little needs and wants, superficial ones at that.
Nonetheless I find that SNET - a car forum - does more for animals than a lot of "shelters" and so on..............

This our "middle-un" wrestling with Molly. Our eldest daughter is 6, middle one is 3 and our little boy is nearly 2 (he was an unexpected surprise
).The dogs are great with them, but as you say they can and will be very protective if we have strangers come to the house. We once had our financial advisor come around shortly after our son was born. He got up out of his seat to go over to have a look at our son in his moses basket - both dogs stood up and stood between him and our son, Molly doing her wooo, wooo bark
(I'm sure you know what I mean as you own boxers also). He asked me what was up, I was honest and said they were not happy that a stranger was going over to what they perceive as one of the "pack", more so that in their eyes a member of their pack that cannot defend itself........ he asked me if I was serious
you can always tell the people that have not owned the breed..... he moved closer and thats when Molly started barking properly (she had sat down by this time) at just about that moment he turned around and sat back in his seat .Anyway I'm off yabbering and probably boring the SN collective to tears so I'll leave it at that. Just to add that both dogs are well trained and will on command go to their bed as well as all the usual other commands - Tash the white is deaf as well, training her was a challenge but she has repaid our devotion 10 times over
