15mph speed limit to force people out of cars.
I read an article here about some "eco-nutter" installing wind turbines and "solar water heaters" made from recycled items like washing machines and creating "eco-villages". They were praised. Problem is, I think 80% of people here rent apartments. Not too sure how they can install these "eco" devices on someone else's property.
most of the roads on my way to work that are sign posted as 40mph, are taken at 20 anyway due to a que of cars behind a bus, last night on the way home i was stuck behind a bus, that was stuck behind a bus
they get wrong for arriving early, so are forced to drive slower to meet targets
this happens all the time, which in turn seams to reprogram old peoples brains, into belivng that the road is in fact a 20MPH limit road, and the problem grows
i think with buses off the roads for just 1 day, traffic would flow quite easy around the town centers TBH
one of the roads i use to get to work is a 60mph road, people flash me and beep horns when i over take them

If everyone got out of their cars this country would be stuffed!
The government get billions of pounds a year from motorists and somehow I don't think it all goes back into the roads!
They would lose billions in tax and public transport around here can't cope now, without all the extra people getting out of their cars and trying to catch trains and buses, they just couldn't cope!
The last thing the government really want is for people to stop using their cars!

Um, if the speed limit is lowered to 20 MPH, then it applies to all forms of transport on the road, so using the bus ain't going to get you there any quicker is it? Surprised that no-one else (especially our so-called betters in the Guv'mint) has spotted this rather gaping flaw in the master plan.

They are building so called "eco" houses near me. They are hideous, double the price of a "normal" house and overlook another load of hideous "eco" houses.
15mph limit? They are living in cloud cuckoo land!

Or they could build 2 roads which go to the same destination. One for buses and people who pay a yearly subscription and the other for mere peasants who won't or can't pay.
What with petrol running out and prices going up, why aren't more of us going down the Prius route anyway?
