Curvy Miss Surrey...
Being a size 16, she probably has a waist size of about 30-32 inches depending on where you look for size guides, I'd hardly say that's massively overweight. I really hope she's not subjected to the sort of comments some people have come out with on this thread, as being young, and possibly impressionable, she could end up with some eating disorder, and obviously that would be so much better than being a bit curvy.

), but apparently, she has even fatter thighs than mine, man!
< TH jumps on her exercise bike to thin her thunder thighs
>In all seriousness, some loud comments have been made here, but then again, general perception persists, in favour of "pleasing to eyes" and health. Hence for the majority, she is a pretty thing with unnecessary weight on her. Majority will include non-scoobynetters too, I am sure.
She probably has heard worse in school, doesn't make it ok though. I couldn't speak of her confidence, as just because she has entered into this contest, doesn't necessarily mean she's brimming with confidence. I hope she is and ignores any unsavoury comments.
As for weight and health etc. if she was 20 stone or thereabouts, I'd agree shifting some for health purposes would be the way to go, but she's a little overweight, not some sort of monster. Almost all of my family (both sides) have had weight issues, and all but one have lived well into old age. To assume carrying a little excess weight will lead to all manner of health issues, is just not always the case. I am by no means skinny (far from it), but thus far, I have had no health problems with regard to my weight. That's not to say I wouldn't like to slim down a bit, but that would be for my benefit alone now, I have had problems in the past, but I am thankful now that I have decent people around me, who are not so shallow, that they would judge me by my looks.

She has and chosen the savoury snacks instead.
Thank goodness for the Mart360's of this world.

It's about comparing looks, especially where this girl actually has entered a "looks" competition. This way, she has offered herself for a debate. Being little overweight is perfectly fine, I am nowhere Miss fit (Misfit is more appropriate) either!
It's just that where the weight is so apparent in this pretty girl's case, she could even refine her looks and give herself better health by losing some weight IMO. If she fails to do so, even then she remains an owner of a very pretty face, and probably a very good personality.
The problem here is they called this girl "curvy"
Now, me liking abit of meat on the bone, would say that is not curvy...but if I called a well endowed, yet fit and healthy women (like TH
:P ) curvy, I may get a slap becuase she thinks I'm saying she is as fat as Miss Surrey.
For that, if Miss Surrey continues to brand herself as "curvy", then she is bringing down the reputation of the real curvy women

which, lets face it, is a masterpiece of photo cropping
If they had been voting on one of her other more blobby photos, I doubt she'd have made it
Plenty of adverts around at the moment for diabetes, greater than 37 inches in men and I think 31.5 in women and you are at a high risk.
She is blatantly over 31.5 inches - it's fat, it's disgusting, it's unhealthy - not just by aesthetic standards but by medical standards.
People attracted to women like her have a problem, being a chubby chaser is a proper mental illness.

Her mother needs shooting for, presumably, supporting her overweight 16 year old daughter in entering a competition when she hasn't a snowball in hells chance of becoming a model outside the Dawn French academy

Well said Lisawrx - I am from a similar sort of family, that carry a little extra weight but have lived to over 90, but my ex's family are so called slim and fit and lived to just over 60. I would prefer to remain rubenesque, long lived and not self obsessed.
B-B
People who live longer tend to do nothing all there lifetime. Look at the queen mother. I have no doubt the queen will live to over 100.
Fat people tend to be lazy people which means they'll live longer too.
Good theory eh!

OK, she has a pretty face, but many of you think she is too chunky, but if she slimmed down to a 10-12, would you kick hert out of bed?
If it was the opposite way around, say she was a 10-12, but had an un-pretty face, would you want to put a bag on her face?
