Surely the company must be named and shamed though, to prevent unknowing newbies from the same fate

to be honest it probably makes no difference to the company what people in here think. One minute you are all like sheep praising the hell out of them with quotes like "oh we wouldn't use anybody else on our pride and joy" and then a few months later after maybe a few mistakes everyone is slating them and looking to ruin their reputation. It's like a soap opera.

I think every subaru garage has been loved and then binned by people in here ...

make yer mind up people!!!

I disagree with that. I have, like others used ESB, and I have, like others, put up a thread and recommended them - when they have done a good job. And I'm not denying that they have, in the past, helped us out at short notice, and put themselves out to stay late and finish difficult jobs if they know we've needed the car back.
I don't think this makes me or anyone else likeminded - a sheep??
But ESB have also been known to cut a few corners - and my last experience with them was VERY unpleasant and caused alot of problems - not least the fact that I paid for something that wasn't done - and I paid for it twice! I did get a refund - but am annoyed at the whole situation and now, if people want a referral - I certainly wouldn't recommend them after my own experiences!
And I'm sure that what I've just said would be echoed by many others!

I hope this mocom guy zac is ready for the day when he makes a mistake. Especially seeing the fashion with which esb have been removed from their pillar.

Everyone makes mistakes, it's how you deal with them that matters

Maybe I am missing the point but surely its not about the fact that mistakes are made (At the end of the day everybody makes mistakes) its more about how they deal with the mistakes and rectify with an ammicable, acceptable solution.

my point rests more around the fact that sheep in here have a morbid fascination with destroying businesses based on mistakes that we are only seeing one side of the argument on. I feel for the companies that obviousely read these posts and witness all the people that elevated them up in the market place gashing them off and trying to sink them. I've been around for nearly 7 years viewing and then actively using these forums and it's the same sheep doing it year in year out.

Actually, everyone was keeping a respectful silence on the name of the garage until post #30 when someone asked who it was...... did you really not know Rob or were you trying to flame the fans

If a thread has one sided content, then the garage in question has only to post their side.

Frayz, you are right. when we had our first scoob - we didn't have it for too long before we got something else and in the meantime - it never needed anything. So when we got this one, when it came to repairs - we looked around and found ESB - although i dont think we were looking for mechanics - we were looking for them to supply something. When we went up there though and you see the workshop and are told fitting fee's - we just returned there in the future for other things. Built up a reasonable relationship with them - or so I thought
But as Stella and Cookstar have said - mistakes are made - by everyone, and as a customer I totally accept them - I've even been known to make a few myself - but as said, Its how you deal with them!
And as Zak is held in very high regard and I'm sure he's earnt that by dealing with people fairly and when he has made a mistake (assuming that he has), he's dealt with it properly. Thats why I'm so pi$$ed at ESB. They tried to cut corners, it failed and when it came on top it was murders trying to get it sorted. Eventually it was sorted and now we're simply banned!!

as you well know I only have work done to my cars through subaru approved garages or prodrive ... so that any problems that do occur are dealt with and guaranteed by IM/ a company with a fat balance sheet. therefore I pay little attention to all the garages that spring up and the work they do to cars belonging to people in this forum.

oh I should add that if I do use a garage outside subaru it's only ever Xtremes because i've known them for ages and they know me.

wrong mate because if they do then they are becoming part of the hypocrasy that exists in here. Also why would they waste their time trying to argue against the might of the ESC?? Better off standing mute and then persuing any bullsh!t comments through the courts.

Rob,

You sound like you have good confidence in Xtreme, which is fair enough. However if they made a mistake then you know or hope thaey would go about it in the correct way.

Thats why you chose to use them and they are a reputable company. You have a good relationship with them.

Im affraid there are too many horror stories to come out of some places to be mistakes.

And as for only using a Subaru main dearer... i dont know of a main dealer that would build me a PPg gearset or supply me a parralell fuel rail setup.

So people do have to use other places too fella.
