That's the best bit about the x-box to be honest, the twighlight sessions with RB5 ramming you off the track due to a minor overtaking incident 12 laps previously or Dazza turning off the ABS without telling anyone

 

Hear about so many Xbox's dieing though, can't be hassled with all that bollox!

There aren't THAT many games that appeal to ME on the Xbox360 at the moment to be honest and the ones that do appeal, most are on the PS3 as well.

One of the main games for me at the moment that appeals is COD4 and that's on the PS3 as well.

Plus if I get the 60GB version, I can bin my PS2 that is taking up room and just use the PS3 and still use the few games I still play on the PS2.

Online gaming on the PS3 is free and as I said before, I know other people with PS3's so there will be people online for me to play against.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very tempted by a 360 and was close to buying one a little while ago when the Forza club was in full swing, but like the R/C thing ( ) no doubt this will also die down in time and as most of the big "meets" are weekday nights, I can't do them due to having to get up early for work anyway.

So, the PS3 suits my needs better at the moment......might still get a 360 at some point in the future when prices drop though!

I was going to hold out untill GT5 was released on the PS3 before buying a new console, but i was soooo bored on Sunday i popped out and got the 360.

Will wait till they do a GT5 pack (expect they'll do a game + console pack when it is released) like i did when GT3 came out on the PS2

Sorry to just jump in on your thread but can someone explain something to me.

Im looking at getting a 360 but I see there are different versions, core, premium, elite, pro, arcade.

Are than any major differences, becuase all I can see is that you dont get a HD cable with the some and less storage, is that it, or am I missing something??

CORE. is no longer available and has been replaced by the ARCADE edition

Arcade. has no hard drive, so is pretty useless, with no hard drive you are unable to play online or play original XBOX games

Premium. is what most of us have, it has a hard drive from save games downloads and online gaming, also allows use of Original Xbox games, comes with all you need to get it online (providing you have broadband), Ethernet cable, headset for verbal abuse etc...

Elite. is the latest and greatest version, has a built in HD drive, for playing HD NOT Blueray films. this is an upgraded version of the Premium setup, and come in BLACK, but cost an extra £50 - £60

Hope this helps, I'd go for the Premium if I was you, best all rounder

The core has a wired controller and no hard drive (which is a must so I wouldn't go for this)

The premium comes with a wireless controller and 20Gb hard drive (this is the one I have and will never use it as a media centre so is perfect for me).

The Elite was released after I bought mine and has 60Gb hard drive and probably has other things I am not to sure about.

Not researched into pro or arcade.

Speak to someone in a shop to find out the true differences but don't just upgrade to the best for their sales figures/the sake of it.

Who knows who's going to win the Blue Ray - HD contest. Afteral on paper betamax was better than VHS! and that died a death.....

 

i can t stay awake for more than 10 mins watching a film anyway, so blue ray is wasted on me....

go for elite mate if you can. from my experience in life, its always worth buying the best you can afford, if you can stretch to it!!

 

Gotta be FIFA, just so much easier to play if we are going to have a team, more forgiving to the less talented.
