PS3 Exclusive titles
I sorted agree. Im only a casual gamer where I will only buy the really really good games ie the standout ones that everyone talks about is GoW and Forza 2.
rehashed crap? Yes there are titles that are franchises but to me that doesn't mean they're crap
Splinter Cell,
GRAW
COD2
RAinBow6
Fight Night
Tiger Woods
Then you have stuff like Crackdown, Bioshock, Lost Planet, GOW etc.
That's without even thinking. Plenty of fun to be had there.

If the titles you mentioned where £30 at launch they would get more interest from me but seeing as games are £50 a go I make sure to only buy the games I know I will defiently want to play.
Half the stuff on the list is Aisia market stuff, of which 2/3rds wont be released here, or will they do the old ZOE trick and bundle a must have demo with it... and then it suddenly gets superb reviews

Its all well and good Sony sending out lists of whats coming up.... but its a two way thing,,, they need consoles sold, for punters to play the games on, and they need more games released to get consoles moving, (or a price cut!!)
Now i know Ed, will be along in a mo to defend Sonys business model

but, I have to say they arnt doing themselves any favours...
To date i have only seen the follwing running on the PS3.... Motorstorm & F1
Its as if the retailers have a death wish for the console... No Game shops have one availabe for free play, (contrast that to the Xbox unit being in almost every store, in a cab form)
Of the major retailers i visit regularly, the PS£ is at the back of the store with no advertising, and one of the two mentioned demo;s running, The xbox on the other hand is in your face as soon as you walk in.
How can punters make a decision on the console when its never seen, or never has any games that make you want to have a go ?

No idea what graw is, didnt really enjoy Rainbow 6, fight night is rubbish IMO and tiger woods is just not my style. Crackdown got boring quick, bioshock looks good but is a bit weird and I thought lost planet was utter crap going by the demo.

As for the prices. Nobody pays £50 unless they're an idiot. just as nobody pays the RRP of the hardware most of the time. I've not paid more than £30 for a game and then I've always sold them on if I've not kept them for less than £18.
You seem very blinkered to me.

So you don't seem to enjoy games that the majority of people do.. kind of like those people who aren't really into 'normal' sex and much prefer it to have somebody take a dump over a glass coffee table while they watch below. Fair play

Where do you get your games for £30?
XBox 360 games - Find cheap XBox360 games and compare UK prices
Choices is not bad
Games - ChoicesUK.com
Shopto as well
UK Online DVD Shop and Video Games Consoles Superstore - ShopTo.Net
What I do though normally is keep an eye on hotukdeals as the main games tend to get posted a lot allowing you to find the best price.

bits bytes pixels & sprites » Archives » Assassin’s Creed: The 5% Cross-Platform Difference
We all remember the controversy with UbiSoft Assassin’s Creed’s exclusivity. First it was shown off as an Xbox 360 title as Assassin at the X05 event and later confirmed only as a PlayStation 3 title. After, what was known as the worst kept secret in the biz, the Xbox 360 and PC versions were confirmed the question lingered; is there a difference between the console versions?
We had a chance to speak with Lead Engineer for Assassin’s Creed, Mathieu Mazerolle and asked the big question; how do the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions stack-up against each other?

Our goal is to ship the two versions of [Assassin’s Creed] to be within 5% or less of difference between each other. That doesn’t mean the PS3 is 5% “better” or “worse”, it’s really just an approximation and a statement that while the two versions are very similar, there will be (as there always is) small, hopefully inperceptible, differences between the two versions within a very small threshold.
For a console thats been out for near on 12 months, i,m still struggling to understand why its so lacking in what should be "WOW"
As much as i desperately want one, the lack of games and hardware issues still leave me questioning sonys latest offering..
I saw another game demo'd tonight, a skateboard game. (and it was tucked out of sight yet again)
What are Sony doing? do they have any control over what goes out for there flagship unit?, or is it just SW to satisfy a numbers/ release schedule
The graphics on this game were appalling, with polygons thrown together at random. with white pixel lines showing the joins at random areas..
It reminded me of goldeneye when it was first released, and yes that was odd, but there was no other console around to compare it to .. given that this is meant to be the best unit around, skins should be a walk in the park.
If it was a new telly, and every second or third line of pixels was white, you'd be complaining to the shop, or the manufacturer. So why is sw like this acceptable?
And when are they going to sort out the rumble controllers? If as we are told they have resolved the differences with the "Rumble owners", you would have thought they,d have bust a gut to get units in the shops so punters could have what is frankly a "standard option" on consoles now.
Its all well and good going for a crimbo push, and a huge line up then, but 16 weeks is a long time for a console, and given its lack of titles at the mo, i think its going to be hard pushed to shift volume units at crimbo without some major price cutting

Do you mean EA Skate?
If so, its about the best thing to come out of EA since SSX. And it's out on 360 too.
Take a look on youtube for the demo movies - it looks ace.
As for rumble, it's odd, but you don't really miss it - I don't know why, it's almost as if you don't really notice it when it's there when playing on 360 or PS2 or whatever.
There's a load of games out in the run up to christmas for both platforms. I don't think they will have trouble shifting units - But hey, let's hope they do, a price drop would mean more people can share the goodness.

did itself no favors on the PS3 hooked up to an LCD unit
now if half the probs are down to poor setup, then Sony need to get there act together and get retailer to support them,
Or are they not bothered once theyve shifted the units to retailer?s

Got both consoles and I think the only games I'll be playing on the PS3 are only those that are exclusive to it - but I did buy it primarily for blu-ray movies.
Any dual format games I'll get on 360 probably due to being able to play online with the usual suspects on my firends list.
Still think the PS3 should have a bigger catalogue of games by now, rather than those that were out on other formats for months beforehand.
