Blackpool Big One 2007 - Please read.
Sorry to hear about the **** poor turnout John/Nina, I know that feeling all too well this year
It would seem that this is the year of not attending much, in complete contrast to last year, when all that was organised was over subscribed.
I explained my reasons for not coming tonight, so no need to go into them here, I'm just dissapointed to hear so few others made the effort. Still, good to see the newbies making an effort
and of course all those that did turn up, well done, it makes organising stuff worthwhile.
John/Nina, don't lose sight of why you've done this for the last 3 (4?) years.
My apologies once again guys, and hope you realise how appreciated you are in doing this. See you thursday.

From: Salford & SMACS,,,,,,,,, and in the smacs muppets and numpty thread
i turned up in the end, i was waiting at the morrisons car park for over an hour until they started locking the gates
nobody turned up so i went home
i will put my money in the bucket on thurdsay
nobody turned up so i went home
poor turnout is because there were 2 runs through the lights for charity.
i don't know what others think, but personally i would rather the 2 runs were joined together and the money raised was split, i would gladly double my contribution as i would only be using 1 full tank of juice rather than 2 to attend both runs.
well done for organising these events though, its for a good cause.

Well
i for one had a great night last night
john-the route to the lights was spot on,and TBH its the first BBO i have made it all the way through without taking a little backstreet rabbit run to catch up!
also, the guy making the starsky and hutch style vehicle entry into the white seirra cossi really made my night,as i was jogging along behind to catch up with the missus, spotted said desperate launch, and then proceded to fall over myself in fits of laughter
thanks to those who made the effort
count me in for BBO 2008!

Had a good day/night, thanks for organising it folks. Think more people were looking at the cars than the lights on the run down, so many people were commenting/pointing etc.
Thanks again, hope its a better turn-out for 2008.

pete.... what time did you get there??? we made it there i think about 10.30 and we pretty much all got there together with only a hand full doin the back streets tour to the macs..
rooter75... there is normally one run with all money goin to radio city's give a child a chance and that money is spread out everywhere it's not for just one thing. there was only 2 runs cos of a mix up at the beginin partly because of john or myself bein slow puttin a post up.
ethanrob... bloke in the cossi was dean jones he's normally on a track some where in a mark 2 escort but if you want info on him i'm sure if you ask john he'll tell you.. what i can tell you is he is very entertainin on a track..
mykp... the buckets are comin lol i did see your post....
jen m.. we thought after what happened last year we needed to do the arrows for on the way to the meet and then on to the lights glad you liked them...
the turn out was a bit poor and i sure if john or myself had got the post up sooner we would'nt of had 2 runs but its done and dusted now nothing we can do about it now all we can do is try to improve for next year..
thanks again for all the support

First time to a BBO and my girlfriend and I loved it..
Was nice to meet and chat to people everyone seemed really friendly (Jenny, Julie says she will bring more chocolate next time)!!!
The most entertaining part for us was having the front of my RB5 toasted by Rob lol got home and straight on the net looking for one.
Thanks for the hard work organising everything,
Bring on 2008..

I can only echo what has been said already. Myself, my missus and her little brother had a great time.
Thanks to John and any other organisers. You did a great job!
Yeah there was a delay getting to the illuminations but as already stated you'd have to be a mug to think you could turn up on a Saturday night and stroll through in 20 mins. Where's the fun in that?? I could not fault the route to the lights and enjoyed talking to a few people I've never met before about complete bollocks at all 3 meet points.
Shame about the turnout but we can only try harder next year.
I for one cannot wait!!

And one from the lights lol

Will post some vids later.
It was a great meet. We enjoyed it very much (our first time in Blackpool
)
Got separated just at the start of the lights but reached almost to the end (10:00 p.m.

Ok here we go.................
Bit of an update. Just got in from work.
Have counted up the collection for the Public Liabilty Insurance.
The £150 was not covered by the collection, mainly due to the lack of attendees. 40 cars meant that nearly £4 per car extra was needed. Big thanks for those who sent money with other people though.
Must say a big thank you to those who did attend and by the feedback that i have read above it is 100% positive.
The route markers were a big sucess but i did hold back to make sure everyone got through together.
Lets hope we can get more there next year.
