Cheers guys.
Dill : I run at 2mls /litre and the cars I run are mapped to that. I also find that beyond 3mls/l there is no apparent gain and there is no more ignition advance.
Jay runs 1ml/litre and adds a further 1ml/litre for track days for added safety when you can drive closer to the limit than most people do on the public highway. I increase from 2 mls/litre to 3mls/litre for track days for exactly the same reason.
At no point would I consider going beyond 3 mls/litre based on past experience.
50litres of fuel at 3mls is 150mls ie half a bottle but I would be inclined to measure it carefully. On an empty tank, I can add up to 60 litres. ie. 180 mls at 3ml/litre track use or 120 mls normal road use for me and Jay would use 60mls on the road at 1ml/l.
Millers CVL does a similar job but at £7 or thereabouts for 20 litres it is way to expensive. I can use nearly two full tanks on a good track day. Well over 100 litres.
Millers Octane Plus, one bottle per tank, £3.00- £3.50 per bottle, I have not been able to detect any performance benefit.

I'll take 5. Should last me a lifetime as I don't drive the car that much.

i can't mention the supplier on the thread as they may loose the right to sell the product altogether because they are selling so cheap. last time they said if we wanted them to ship direct the price would go up by £1 + vat a bottle.
We get it that bit cheaper as i do the admin side of the group buy so it saves them time sorting it all out.
however RCM sell 30 bottles at a time, but you won't get these prices

Yeah - I asked RCM to match it on a £1000 order I just made, but they said they wouldnt because it 'would undermine our dealer network'.
Quite how when its already on offer at this price I don't know...
List of likely candidates is here:
Nitrous Formula Stockists
I note it says that Nitrous Formula Europe is a subsidiary of Roger Clark Motorsport Ltd

According to the link it contains viscon and vitane whatever they are.
Toluene is useable as a booster but you need a much greater quantity to raise the RON points as much.
I think the main thing with NF is the stabilisation of fuel for a more predictable burn.

Viscon info:
GTA Fuel Enhancer: Improves gas mileage, horsepower and emissions
Features of Viscon Technology - Used in GTA Fuel Enhancer for controlling combustion by controlling droplet formation and vaporization
Vitane seems to be a name for Tetra-Ethyl-Lead disolved in ethanol (Which will trash O2 sensors and Cats if so!)

The Europe site implies it has both in.
If it has TEL in that would explain why it gets such a high octane boost. However at the expense of trashing O2 sensors and Cats. And harming the environment of course.
However the Australia site says its O2 sensor and Cat friendly...

Having tried many octane boosters and so far settled on NF, I think you will find VISCON and VITANE are one and the same and just part of the marketing ploy/play on words.
I have also done experiments on the raw product that is the main ingredient of NF and other fuel enhancers which was interesting but I have settled on NF from RCMS.
Is the Cossley Quick Silver Unit turbocharged? Does anybody know?
It sounds like this knowledge has been around for quite a long time and in my experience, the increases in ignition advance and hence torque, when NF is used at 1 to 3 mls/litre are very easy to see and measure. Beyond 3mls/l and I suspect the fuel is saturated.
At the concentrations recommended, I doubt there is a signifigant likelyhood of damage to the CAT although use beyond the recommended 1ml/l may shorten CAT life.

i must admit that both of my imprezas have been decatted so no probs at all there for me. Also though i've not had problems with the lambda sensor at all in either while using the nf.

If NF uses TEL then it will most definately damage Cats and O2 sensors. To have any notable effect on Octane you are talking about enough lead to trash them. And yes it will take time but it will happen IF it uses TEL.
From the Octane gains quoted for such low dilutions of the product I strongly suspect it does contain TEL.
