So glad everyone had a good day. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and look forward to the next one. I wasn't sure if this would be the 8lyton bLAST as the current WYIOC didn't seem enthusiastic, but on the day it was as good as ever. I do hope next time more of the newer members as well as all the usual folk make it along, and many more SMACS please.
Sean & Jordan both did superbly. I especially enjoyed Sean hunting down his Dad (T20 against a diesel Skoda
) and Jordan making his Mum feel sick

Sorry to see the SVX damaged and I hope there's a positive outcome. Remember though, next time a car understeers DON'T use handbrake to try and rescue it

Kev, I'm awaiting a guy from BriSkoda posting. He's a semi-pro sports photographer and was snapping away most of the day. He was in the Skoda painted in red oxide with the "This car has not been abandoned" sticker
He says he'll post lo-res for everyone, but is happy to do a full CD with whatever you want in hi-res for £20.

I've got the footage of the cornering by most that was there, unfortunately still trying to find a power cable for the docking station 
Sad to say that I lost a fair bit of really good footage too (inside veiw of Mr Crafts fighting the beast under the bonnet and most of his run out with me) due to the DV tapes not FF when I pressed the button.

Okay, my turn.
Firstly, apologies for not osting this sooner. Last night turned into an alcohol fuelled laugh-fest, but that's another story...
Here we go then...
Dave, as always, thanks fo putting the time and effort into organising each of these events, they just keep getting better and better, and this time even the weather was on our side.
Massive thanks to Andy & Ellie AET for the loan of the Merc Sprinter and the trailer. I cannot say how useful and helpful it was to have the use of your equipment. All the club stuff went inside with room to spare for my 6 spare wheels. tools, and other assorted gubbins.
Thanks to Andy for popping out and getting me some brake fluid too. This meant I could go back out and play for the rest of the day, albeitwith only three wheels doing the braking. Not as bad as it sounds, as there are just 2 spots on the track where braking is really necessary. The rest of the time it's a case of cogging it down and throwing it into corners sideways to scrub the speed
Paul... Many thanks for helping to diagnose the early problem. The car dropped down onto 3 pots whilst I was sat waiting to go out on my first run
I did a lap hopin that a good thrashing might resolve the issue (try the easy stuff first) but it didn't, so it was into the pits and up with the bonnet. Bearing in mind I have VERY limited mechanical knowledge I traced the problem to number one pot, whipped out a very wet plug, and thought it might have been the head gasket, as it looked to have water on it. Paul came to the rescue, we swapped the plug with the one from no. 2 pot and decided it was a dead spark plug, Paul shuffled off and came back with a spare from his collection, popped it in and bingo! Back on all four for the rest of the day 
Thanks to Paul too for the passenger ride. Simply amazing. Sometimes we even pointed in the same direction as we were travelling.
Most amazing sight of the day? Coming round the bottom bend before the finish straight, staring at the door mirror which was just filled with dayglo green and black vinyl as Paul followed me round sideways. This happened on at least 6 occasions, and each time I was grinning like the proverbial Chesire cat.
To everyone that came in with me as a passenger, thank you. For trusting me, and for saying just how good you thought the little £300 sh*tbox really was.
I absolutely loved and enjoyed every minute of the day, even the mechanical bits, and the crawling around under the car, covered in brake fluid, crimping the brake line in a last attempt to get some pedal back and go back out.
And finally (You knew it was coming, didn't you?)

After much persuasion to get your *** into the Pug you finally bowed to the pressure, along with Sean as a passenger, and went out. I wasn't even watching until I heard a screach coming from the hairpin and Sarah said something that made me look up...
to see the little Pugleot, which has served me well for 180 miles of track time at two Blyton events, ploughing headlong into a trackside bale at what must have been 30-40 mph. She'd taken a bit of a battering during the day, losing about 50% of what was left of the dash, and the front bumper, but this was the final nail. She was dead. I need to apologise for my first words to you, but I'd not had long enough to think of anything other than "How sh*t do you feel?"
Seriously mate, PLEASE, PLEASE don't worry. As I've said, she was a £300 eBay special, and she's brought me and everyone that went in her £1000's in smiles.
As some of you may or may not know, she is now in residence at AET, strapped to a heart moniter, and as they say at the start of the $6,000,000 man, Gentlemen, we will rebuild her. Bigger, better, faster, stronger. With internal brake and fuel lines, a cage and some nice seats. It's the very least she deserves. Maybe even a heart ransplant
We'll see.
And to EVERYONE that attended, if you enjoyed it half as much as I did, you WILL be back in the spring !

Hope the damage to your rare beast isn't beyond economical repair
(If it is you could maybe buy it back from the insurers and bring it over in the spring as an out-and-out track car)

To anyone interested, our gracious hosts, Howard and Ruth Paterson, owners of Rallydrive and the Blyton track are currently competing in the Incas Rally in Peru and running in 44th. They'd be doing a bit better if they hadn't had to pull over to vomit due to altitude sickness as this is the highest rally stage in the world. Their colleague Simon Nutter is running 41st, and they're all in Skoda Fabia's

We only did 2 laps with the nuts loose.
Andy thought we were pitting to "nip them up a bit"
First time I've heard that term applied to about 4 full spins per nut, but hey...
At least I didn't stuff it!

Unfortunatly the way the ****** in the insurance industry work is that if a claim is made on one, it effects them all!!.
I work on the principal that if it costs less than double the excess to fix, no claim is made. Car is worth 3k tops, so I will fix it if costs less than a grand.
Grease monkey is coming down tonight to try and start her, and then the body shop says that they can't judge the damage that caused the twist, (Except that the only panel damage is the 1 wing) until shes on a ramp, which they can't do until shes running!!.
I will update you all as I know whats happening.
By the way, has anyone got picks/video of me running, loads were filming/snapping as I was circeling, but I hadn't got mine out before the mishap!!.
I cant beleive youve all let him off so lightly!! soft bu**ers!!

That explains it starting, but not running. No leaks, so if thats all on the engine I will be happy. Getting towed to the body shop in the next couple of days so it can be dismantled and examined underneath.
