Header tank insulating spacers? And where's SEARCH gone?
Tuffnol is a brand name for fibre reiforced phenolic (a plastic that used to be common for carb spacers.
If you go to Expansion tank isolation - Subaru Forester Owners Forum you can see the ones I made, I have some spare tuffnol somewhere as well.

No, but it would contribute to general heat management. If you did this, fitted insulating manifold spacers, heat wrapped your whole exhaust from headers to downpipe, you might have done enough to get a little more out of the map.
Very interesting, I did the bodge of just using heat reflective material without changing bolt positions so heat transfer still occurs.
Like P1 Mark's excellent setup...very tidy...not keen on the black FMIC pipework though as black material absorbs heat, better to reflect!

Banny, I think there was some confusion. I was referring to inlet manifold spacers which RCMS keep in stock along with inlet manifold gaskets.
These are made in batches on CNC equipment.
If you buy a set of these, Olly will give you a spare Tufnol off cut and you can make your own header tank spacers.
Cheers.
