For Harvey - You have just insulted over 40 Subaru owners with your "straight line special" comment.
Here is what I said :
It looks like Roger Clark Motorsport have built a very capable all round car and not a 440 yard straight line special.
a very capable all round car and not a 440 yard straight line special.
wrc 350+ also asked :
andy, where were you at totb6? not sso, also why didnt you do top speed run at this event?
Incidentally their car did not "break" on the quarter mile. They hit a probable clutch problem changing from 5th to 6th on the top speed run.
As I said elsewhere, who would have believed, five years ago that Subaru as a whole could take on Skylines and beat them? A considerable advance for the marque from a point where "400 bhp is not achievable on a 2litre Subaru" or "at 400 bhp it will be undrivable as a road car" or "to go over about 360 bhp you need a closed deck block"
There have been tremendous developments by numerous people, (often unrecognised) within the marque and the spin off for "normal" road cars has been truely beneficial.

Just to correct a few points here
The team scored 59 points in total, and these were made up as follows:
No. Name Car Club Points
C71 Olly Clarke Impreza 22b.com Subarus 25
C68 Andy Forrest Impreza 22b.com Subarus 10
C70 John Stevenson Impreza 22b.com Subarus 9
C69 Paul Blamire Impreza 22b.com Subarus 7
C73 Singh / Horsley Impreza 22b.com Subarus 4
C74 Dale Howard Impreza 22b.com Subarus 3
C72 Steven Darley Impreza 22b.com Subarus 1
A very good spread of points, but none the less, nearly 45% of the points being scored by Olly, which was excellent.
Various cars had issues during the day, but all battled on for the cause of the team, to win the Team Trophy, which has been my goal for the last 3 events.
Full results can be scrutinized here https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...l-results.html
The top speed runs are phenomenally brutal on the cars, with no less than 4 of the team suffering damage as a result of a top speed run, those being, John Curistan (ECC), Paul Blamire (Zen), Olly Clark (RCMS) and myself driving Mark's (Lateral) car. The level and cost of the damage varied.
Quite a few of the Team Subaru cars are exceptional in their own right, and with no less than 6 members of the team competing in Time Attack the day before, and all doing very well, it truly shows how well the marque has developed.
Please don't turn this thread into a crusade as to who is top dog, top banana or whatever, lets celebrate the simple fact, that on the weekend of the 28th/29th July the Subaru's stood proud, and quite frankly destroyed the opposition.
Having attended all three events referred to earlier in the thread, i can hand on heart state that everyone, and i mean everyone, thanked and congratulated one another on their achievements at each event, the team spirit and friendship had to be seen to be appreciated.

Thats Bob Rawle, and he is always there for technical assistance throughout the day. (Sorry Bob )
Glad you enjoyed the day. One of the downsides to being a competitor, you dont get to see much of the action.

Sorry, missed this as I was on hols.
I think I was 19th overall on the handling at TOTB and 5th overall on the event.
The car suspension set up was biased towards a 1/4 mile spec as this was my main target. In reality I only saved 0.06 seconds over my SSO 1/4 times by doing this, yet scuppered the handling
If you attended the event, you would have seen how high and unstable the car was on the handling, thats the main reason I didn't do a top speed run, you really don't want to be in an unstable car at 200+mph
At SSO the car was set as a compromise to both disciplines. Once I replace the std Sti suspension with something more suitable then the handling will be sorted
Prior to that race weekend I had the pleasure of a drive in Pauls Zen Performance car, it runs on the EXE-TC suspension set up. I can quite honestly say I have never been in a better handling car : It made me realise what I'm missing in that department ! After the Time Attack win on the Saturday it would have been a contender for TOTB overall honours too.
