Dawes MBC with bleed valve - encouraging results

Well I did wonder about drilling out a peanut and using it instead of the bleed valve to save weight. Christmas pudding could have some interesting thermal properties used as a restrictor - could connect it to inlet temperature sensor? Alcohol soaked cherries also could be handy in the system somewhere.

couple of very interesting points mentioned guys.

the brandy could be sprayed over the intercooler to reduce the charge temps.
as for the xmas tree lights i am sure john has already hooked them up to his DIY lambda display. he just has not had time to post a thread about it

I have two sets of white Xmas lights. One is static and the other goes through six different flash modes controlled by a home made LM 37853724EBZ-74HC06 wired with a phased locked loop, ambient temperature sensor and integral Muller-iced Geiger counter Not. I bought them from B&Q. And I haven't taken them apart (yet!) But I thought Xmas light flashing stoichiometric lambda display style would be quite nice - you could control them with your right foot, but if you use too much and the EGTs rise on boost they would grow dim and Santa would not call!

It's OK Fozzie they already muppetise my threads in Drivetrain and even put threads with my name in them! I'm used to it, and this thread had already been comprehensively muppetised by a load of drunken fools at Christmas

Ah ha John! Me thinks I've mentioned this before a month or so back, where I said that fitting the DD in your original configuration was a little crude. I then said that you could put the DD in place of the restrictor and keep the factory boost control in place after it (just where you have your bleed valve). This way you would have the benefits of quick spool up and better held boost but with factory boost control to a certain extent.
This is almost the conclusion you've come to except that you'll obviously build a control system of your own out of an old cereal packet, a ZX81 and parts from a fridge, that will eventually out think a Cray supercomputer.
Oh how I hate it when I'm right all the time, it's a burden for sure but someones got to be as clever as me,don't they...

Floyd almost right but then again not really.... using it with the FBC is crap and means you don't run any extra boost as the WGS is controlling it in a "closedloopalike" system and you just spool up a bit quicker to 10PSI. You need to unplug the FBC and use a bleed to get it smooth with a small turbo and be able to substantially increase performance. This thread has only come to the top because it was muppetised - did you not see it before or had I bored you ?
The processor I am using for the EBC runs at 8 MIPS. A ZX81 runs at 0.5 MIPS so 16 times slower
