ISDN is good for games. not so good for downloads.

you can get 15.5k downloads at 128k (divide bps by 8 and take a little off for overheads to get kilobytes per sec). so this aint nowhere near as good as broadband. it is hovever a little better than 4k a sec.

if you live in the sticks then i wouldn't rely on the exchange ever being updated!

costs 26.99 a month for bt - and 12.99 for a 24/7 0800 connection (freeserve or alike). 40 notes a month (and this includes 2 lines and rental).

it sounds like you enjoy online gaming and you spend a few hours a week indulging - you only live once

What do you need the download speed for ? - Theres a suggestion that the whole broadband market needs a kick start from content providers and that some deregulation of the **** industry might help .....

ISDN isn't good enough for streaming video - as I found out when that Kylie video was doing the rounds - was WFH that day. Everyone at work kept sending me mail telling me about it - I nearly went in at lunchtime

Harry Potter!! I, oops I mean Alex, has a Gameboy Advance from Tenerife and I know more about Potter than I did before I went. I read some of the first book but haven't seen the film. But it is very Lord of the Ringsish in it's roots of wizardry etc. The game quality of the GBA is a big improvement on its predecessor by the way.
