Next round is Knockhill in 6 weeks time, a track i absolutely love, i should be back in my car for that one and i need all the points i can get there before we get to the big power tracks like Silverstone and Brands Hatch where i usually struggle to keep up.

A big thanks to ScoobyClinic for getting the 'spare' car ready, it was a massive achievement to get it done in time, an even bigger achievement for it to run faultlessly all day the only problem i had was the wiperblades were ****

Brilliant result Kev, especially considering the car swap.

Thanks everyone

YouTube - Time Attack 08 Rnd. 1 Donington - Kev Horsley | Scoobyclinic

Finally got round to editing some of the footage, captured every minute of track time apart from the super battle when the memory card ran out on the sighting lap

Great going Kev. Been following your antics over the months as you spread into this TA thing!

Fab result.

You sure cut some of those apexes!!

Rob: I think that beats hillclimbs!

You're not the first to mention the apexing I don't think it makes for a faster lap, it's just something that's embedded in my driving style

You're right about fun though, there's not that many series' out there where you get to compete on the UK's best tracks for such little outlay per round

I'm impressed Kev. From the mud bared inside those rumble strips some others had been ploughing too! Tut tut.

I did a hot lap in a hot running convoy in my 911 last year round Silverstone GP circuit. apart from cr@p brakes the car was magic and I felt I could really get into it.
Off to Olton Park this sat to watch the sport 2000 (favorite ATM) and the porsche track boys in full flight.
Luv Olton, big sweeping bends, and very fast.

Looking for a Lola T 492 or younger to restore and maybe circuit race as well as hillclimb. Wife's not so sure....about the circuits.

One would be good with a 400 bhp flat 4 in 500Kg.

Look foreward to your KH result in your own car.

I think it's only me and Ollie Clark who do most of the cutting and Oulton, can't wait for that round

Car's coming along nicely, new engine is in it's final stages of build ready for it's 700+ miles of running in And at the weekend i got a bit desperate for some more speed after seeing what we're all up against at Donny and ripped my interior out I so wanted to leave it in as much road trim as possible but needs must!

Yep: Gut it!
Seems you have no choice, just the same in hillclimbs now.
This weekend, none of the cars in the tin-tops have an interior, and only mine and a V8 Morgan in the sports cars. In fact...we are the only road driven cars I think!
Some pics would be good!

Especially for you, Graham

Heater & fans in

Heater & fans out

Part way through removing the sound deadening, something odd on the passengers side as someone's replaced the standard stuff, more than likely had a new floor welded in knowing my luck

The left overs

Definitely some weight come out of it, will weigh it on Saturday to find out, my guess 20kg easily

good going, but a lot more to go judging on what others have done over the winter.
Brave move and essentially scraps the value in some ways?
That is what stopped me about 6 months ago.

My Sti now for sale if you know anyone....

Also, slightly dissapointed that there are no 'Flat 4' girls in your pics anymore!

The value was scrapped long ago! will only ever be sold as winning track package and i'm not sure there's anything else i can strip out the car, i have a few other tricks up my sleeve to save weight

And you're right, distinct lack of wimmin, will get my friend Rachel on the case if she turns up to any of the rounds

Spent 14 hours on the car Sat & Sun up at Clinic, sound deadening all but taken out, the weird stuff on the passenger side isn't hiding anything or over the top of the standard stuff, strange

Took the scales for the weigh in, 98kg!! that includes all the door cards, window motors & wiring, some of the metal door lining, glass, carpets, undermatting, sound deadening, heater & fans etc. Yet to take the rear window out but going to guess that all the new plastic windows to go in along with the carbon door cards will offset the weight of the rear window. Also weighed the bolt in cage, comes in at around 30kgs, with the weight saved by removing the OEM seats front & rear and fitting the Prodrive carbon seats that 98kgs is a true saving, so 1100kgs is a real target still need to factor in the added weight of wings, bigger turbos and intercoolers etc. so may have gained a few kilos there, but i'd taken loads out in the last few years which i've not factored in like bootlids, hinges...

Good work Kev

What windows are you putting in? I've heard the plastic ones aren't very good as they can pop out, due to frameless design.

Are you putting in a heated screen then?

Dill
