No worries mate, you will see mine fitted but it may not be up and running as it is disconnected at the moment as i am in the design process of a new video capture system for the car.

I may to a temp connection though for display purposes

I have mine linked to the CarPc and it has a dedicated power supply, so mine is slightly different

I see you have three main options as follows:
  • If it is going to be used ONLY for a reverse cam, then i would suggest taking power from the reverse light. There is absolutely no problem with this as the camera draws very little current.
  • Secondly, you may want to power it from the ignition feed (Aux line) if you wanted to use the camera and switch to it at ANY point whilst driving.
  • Third option is to have a switched line from auxillary AND have a feed off of the reverse light, so you get to choose when the camera is LIVE, and it is automatically powered when in reverse. With this option you may need a little assistance as you don't want to feed power back to the reversing light and make it illuminate.
Hope this helps and i have probably totally confused you !!
If you opt for the 3rd option, use a standard 4/5 pin automotive relay (SPDT) wire a feed from the switched ignition to the relay, and take a feed from the reverse light for the signal, so you won't run the risk of damaging the car wiring loom, or inadvertantly powering up the reverse lights

PM replied too and there is also another thread on the cameras which was posted by someone else who bought one.

I certainly haven't had any complaints about them. They are handy little additions if you have a DVD multimedia unit. Particulalry if you have a nice new car and reverse park in car parks with bollards etc .

I've not had any problems with the reversing cam supplied by Tissy , sometimes it will steam up a little but nothing major

There are many different types of software out there, my one of choice is a customised version of RoadRunner.

However, the biggest part of the project is getting the hardware in, so i'd worry about software very last thing.

Come along to one of the meets and i will show you what i have fitted
