Very sad. I wonder how many of you actually behave like this in real life. Scoobynet has now lost someone that actually has a different opinion to the vast army that can't see past Imprezas. As environmental policies change, Scoobies, as we know them, will become extinct. What is everyone going to talk about then?

One further point. Two men recently were jailed for virtually their whole life for plotting on an internet chat room to rape a young girl. I wonder if systematic bullying and baseless taunting about homosexuality will one day be subject to a similar court case?

Take a good, long look at yourselves, gentlemen. You wouldn't speak like this to someone's face so why do it on here?

To Scoobynet Moderators. At what point are you actually going to do your job and moderate? It'll only take one successful court case and this site will be shut down.

I think this will be my last post too. Goodnight

eh?

Matteeboy dip**** last signed on today at 9.33pm, several hours after he said it would be his last post.

lol at blueblaster. He says hes not having bum love with matteeboy yet decides to follow his boyfriends lead. And get off your high horse, you are as much as a culprit as anyone else. Stop being all PC and take it like a man. You give it, prepare to get some back

AL,

He has a point though. This thread has descended into nothing better than adolescent squabbling. When will people like you realise that using 'gay' (and all the other childish metaphors you have for homosexuality) as a derogatory term is not about being non-PC, it's about not being childish and stupid.

Agree with Bluebaster's comments on the moderation too. This thread should have been locked an age ago as it hasn't been on topic for at least three pages apart from anything else.

Blue you make some good points, although a little melodarmatic.

Mattee, when challenged has resorted to abusive responses and threat of violence. I'd challenge him also...would he say some of these things to peoples faces?

I'd say in this case, that moderation was not required, and as usual SN has policed itself. One things for sure.......you'll both be back.

Keep smilling

Even homosexuals use the word "gay" when reffering to something as being rubbish. It was the PC squad, and the odd uptight "ginger beer" that complained about chris moyles and jeremy clarkson using those words in such a manner.

School kids all over the world use the term, and school kids are innoncent sweet things

Well even if that were true it is not the context in which the term (and other even more trite expressions for homosexuality) have been used here. You can post stupid little emoticons wagging fingers and claiming to be Mr. Non-PC all you like but the fact remains that this thread is full of comments inferring that being homosexual is something to be mocked. Calling something or even someone a bit 'gay' is one thing but using expressions like 'having bum love' in a derogatory fashion is something else completely. Just try growing up OK?

I think you are stereotyping and bunching gays together, making a big deal out of nothing, making them feel not normal, and as if they require special treatment. You have offended me.

This place is more predictable than a crappy soap opera.....

I drove the new type r down at Oulten park today. I had Charlie Butler Henderson as my Instructor for the day (vicky's brother - Great laught by the way) and personally, even though im a bit biased as i work for honda. ITS AWESOME!!! Seriously guys... what a hoot to drive. For a FWD car my god it grips well... Press that silly VSA button off and woo hoo, we drove all sorts of marques today from the golf GTI 30th anniversary to the renault R26.. The civic is the slowest out of the lot for top speed etc

Round the track its a different kettle of fish, so much easier to control, power is smooth and the steering does exactly what you want it to do!!

Proof is in the driving guys.. so stop hating and do it.. Read this months top gear mag.. STIG voted it NO1 hatch..

As one of your "accused" I would be happy to make a few (hopefully fair) comments

Loads of us on here can see past Impreza's. We all have our opinions and our favourites. Some of us can accept that different cars have different qualities, and that no one is perfect.

If you care to look at the main "protaganists" in this thread, you'll see that one cannot see past either turbo diesel Astras or Golf R32's. And whilst highly willing to voice opinions is somewhat restricted in his ability to be open minded.

The loss of Matteeboy (if indeed he does leave Scoobynet -which I seriously doubt) will not make one bit of a difference. His contributions are, on the grand scheme of things as insignificant as yours, mine and 99% of everyone else who posts on this BBS.

One further point. Two men recently were jailed for virtually their whole life for plotting on an internet chat room to rape a young girl. I wonder if systematic bullying and baseless taunting about homosexuality will one day be subject to a similar court case?
I don't see any systematic bullying about homosexuality. I see a few throwaway comments during an animated interaction. In any event, One should always be careful before making accusations on boards such as this without first checking other posts made by some of those supposedly on the receiving end. Matt is not shy when it comes to accusing other posters of engaging in homosexual activity.

If you take anything Audilover posts with more than a pinch of salt, you need to take a look at how seriously you take life. The same could, incidentally, be said about my posts, and again, anyone else's for that matter.

Take a good, long look at yourselves, gentlemen. You wouldn't speak like this to someone's face so why do it on here?
If someone approached me, bragging about this, that and the next thing with an "i'm better than you" attitide, then I may very well speak to that person's face in the manner in which I have posted on here. Just as I would expect someone to do the same to me in the event I acted in a manner that person deemed innapropriate.

I live and work in Glasgow. People are expressive here, that way everyone knows where they stand - maybe you've just had a more sheltered life or one where everyone is somewhat false to a greater or lesser extent?

The difference is, in real life, its much easier to judge the persons intent because you can see expression and body language. The smileys help, but only to a degree.

To Scoobynet Moderators. At what point are you actually going to do your job and moderate? It'll only take one successful court case and this site will be shut down.
You can't defame a psudonym. And the only matter worthy of any complaint outwith the bounds of going off topic (bearing in mind that we are only off topic due to a disagreement over the fundimental basics of whether or not the CTR is going to be a worthy hot hatch) is the threat of physical violence made against me.

Now, whether or not the police would etertain a complaint on the basis of "some poster with the username Matteeboy threatened to kick the head in of some poster with a symbol for a username "if he ever met me"" is one only the police could answer, but I'm sure we could all have a pretty good guess at the answer.

As for me? I doubt I'll be losing any sleep over it.

I think this will be my last post too. Goodnight
Your perogative, but, really, life is too short to worry about such things.

Anyway, and getting it back on topic, Craigieloon's post is very interesting

The problem with this review is that it was conducted on a track, which doesn't necessarily make for a good road car by someone who openly admits they're biased because they work for Honda. Additionally, the opinions of car magazines are considered irrelevant by some, so Stig's opinion doesn't count either.

Flatcap, you'll probably dismiss this straight away as it isn't in "Evo", but have you read the hatch test in this months "Car"?

Not a magazine I ever buy or read, so no idea what their reviews or reviewers are like, but they put the new Type R first and had nothing but praise for it.

It handles well when pushed, no denying that. What to you is a good road car??? Its quiet on the road, very driveable, Safe with the 8 airbags as standard and the traction control. 30.3mpg combined. Build by the company who currently holds the JD surveys most reliable engines and number 2 in customer satisfaction....

I think to many people here are quick to dismiss the honda and i find that incredible since none of you have driven it... You are basing your views on emotion rather than fact.... Go drive the car, then tell me you hate it...

Its a cracking all rounder.. not best at everything but does everything above average... Everyones opinion will be different but i really cant see how ANYONE can call this car rubbish.. The styling may not appeal but the engineering and the build quality are certainly there...Tel me another engine that revs to 8900 rpm and still gets 12500 service intervals.....
