You may have a limited edition 1991 Turbo Cab. That has the same 250bhp 2479cc (4cyl; SOHC 8v.) turbocharged engine as coupe. Porsche didnt produce a (n S2 engined) 16v turbocharged 4-cylinder car. I dont need to check my facts: I dealt in the cars for over ten years.

I said that "I drive a 944 S2 turbo cab", that is exactly what I said.
You decided to show off your far superior knowledge and write in a rather patronising way:-
One of my car's is a 1992 S2 turbo Cab, one of approx 100 RHD run out models that were made.
It is fitted with the 2.5 8 valve engine turbo engine as all 944 turbo's were, it has a promax chip, induction kit giving around 280bhp.
I realise you wanted to air your superior knowledge at my expense (after all you dealt in these cars for ten years) but you got it wrong.
You can dress it up all you want, my statement is correct, yours is wrong.

You dont have an "S2 Turbo Cab"; you may have either an 944 S2 Cabriolet or a limited production 1991 944 Turbo Cabriolet. That car isnt an S2 in any way; it doesnt use the 3 litre version of the 16v engine and every other 'S2' part will have a 951 part number on it, if you look. It is a 1991 944 Turbo Cabriolet, not an S2 Turbo Cabriolet.

Listen, Porsche never made (you maye have done, but I doubt it) a 3.0 litre 16 valve 944 turbo...or an "S2" Turbo. They made a turbo and an S2 in cab format.
The 944 Turbo Cab is a 2.5 litre 8 valve....the same one that is in my car.
I suggest you go searching a bit more.
What engine and car do you think you have before I laugh some more?

I take it you never bothered to read my first post as I suggested, I never mentioned a 3 litre engine.
So Porsche never made an S2 turbo cab.
The other poster agrees with me that they did and he dealt in these cars for 10 years.
I will not be rude and say anymore, but just remember the people that are reading this post are not laughing with you, but most probably at you .

Being pedantic Dave, its a 1991, registered in 1992. Production ceased before the end of the model year in August. From September 1991 the Neckarsulm factory was building 1992 968s.

The S2 was essentially a 1986 944 Turbo with an enlarged version of the 16v 2479cc 'S' engine. From a completely practical point of view, when you build one with a turbocharged 250bhp 2479cc engine the car becomes a 944 Turbo Cabriolet, theres nothing 'S2' left about it, is there?
I'll tell you both what then; even though Porsche list the 1991 944 Turbo Cabriolet in their production statistics whilst making no mention of an 'S2 Turbo Cabriolet'... Tell me the first eleven non-unique characters in your VIN number. If it isnt a 944 Turbo model code then I will concede that I am wrong.

Jesus! Who cares lol.
As for the winter tyre's comment, the question is "how fast are porsche boxters?" not who's more likely to fit Winter tyre's.
Top Spec Boxster - Slower than Top spec Impreza
Top Spec Boxster - Faster than Low spec cheap Impreza
Low Spec Boxster - Slower than Cheap low spec impreza.
Oh unless of course they have winter tyres lol, in which case they might be faster on bends, IF they are being driven by a trained driver lol, this place is a joke sometimes.

It also happens to be true, every time there's a bit of snow we get the AWD heroes wondering why the f**k their 'rally car' ended up wrecked at the side of the road.

Unfortunately I am not able to look at the log book for this car until the 9/2 when I am back at home.
It may or may not say S2 on it, I must admit I have made the assumption that the car is a S2 due its the year of manufacture.
That said I will be surprised if it does not share any components with a S2 944
I cant believe everypart is unique, although it would explain why the garage bills are so high!!
Also I apologise to the originator of this thread for dragging it off topic.

The arent any 'S2' parts (beyond the engine and the DME), that is my point. The S2 was a lash up of the 951 revised body (with the airbox fitted into the apeture under the badge panel that originally housed the intercooler), '86 Turbo running gear and an enlarged version of the awful 1987 944S engine. An S2 shares many parts with an early Turbo, this car is a late turbo so the only parts it 'shares' are parts that were common across the range.

Are you a troll? You certainly act in a troll-like way. I havent suggested that you have altered the V5; only that it may have been done, or simply registered incorrectly in the first place.
You do not have a 1992 944 S2 Turbo, because Porsche did not build one. You have a 1991 Turbo Cabriolet, one of 625 built.

"Thread ruined"? Ruined where? "How fast are Porsche Boxsters?" is an unqualifed question so you cant expect a decent thread to result: and you didnt get one.

I've compared boxsters to impreza's because this is a Subaru forum, and i'd say 95% of the active members probably own or are thinking of owning an Impreza. If someone said how fast is a Veyron i'd say "A lot faster than an Impreza".
